Cool!

That sounds like a great album.

Do you remember what it's called?

I don't have anything like that, and I like variety.

It is called "A Christmas Festival with Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops."

There can't be two versions of that, right?

I seriously doubt there would be two with that name.

Thanks.

The truth is, I don't even know who Arthur Fielder is.

So I bought it for the Boston Pops, who I don't know much either.

But, you know, I figured it would be more traditional and less "let's jazz up perfectly good classics to show how creative we are."

Because I like my Christmas music pretty darn traditional.

I don't know who he is either.

But it sounds like good music if you ask me, and that's all that matters.

I like mine pretty traditional too.

I've looked him up and it turns out that Arthur Fielder was the conducter of the Boston Pops before John Williams.

He (Arthur Fielder) died in 1979, so that gives you an idea of just how old-timey the album can be.

In fact, on his Wikipedia page, it even said that he was criticized for doing versions of the classical pieces that were too "democratic," meaning he tried to make classical music more fun for the masses.

I love that you find the history & lives info of the things I haven't given much thought to at all.

I'm kind of uninformed on things like that, and it's really cool to me to find out things.

History is just interesting to me.

So, basically, I look for historical things to interest me.

It's funny because I changed Christmas album and, this time, I put in from by the three original tenors (Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras and Luciano Pavarotti).

It's operatic versions of Chrismas carrols.

What's really funny is that I have my CD player on "shuffle" mode.

So the first song that I came across was John Lennon's "War is Over."

It's a Christmas song that I really love, but John Lennon voice isn't exactly an opera voice, is it?

So to have three opera singers sing it was kinda all wrong.

At the three tenors & that song.

I've never heard that song.

I do love the 3 tenors separately, and I'm not sure I've heard them together.

It's possible, and now I'm missing my opera CD's I listen to.

War Is Over.

It lasts about three minutes and forty-five seconds.

I'm sure you've heard it before, but maybe it's just called different things in different places.

It's a clip with the lyrics only, because the real video for that song is super depressing.

Here's the tenors' version.

Also about 3 minutes and 45 seconds long.

Thanks for posting the links.

I'll have to listen to them later, cause my computer is updating and slowing things down.

Thank you for not posting the depressing video one.

I was watching the War is Over clip on YouTube and seeing the images.

And, at first, I was like, "This isn't too bad."

And then, "Well, I guess that is what happens in war..."

But, eventually, I had to just admit, "Yeah, I can't show her that."

I figured that watching the lyrics may be a bit boring, but at least it's not triggering.

I so appreciate that.

Lyrics won't bother me, I mean, be totally boring.

I like to know lyrics.

I'm just curious to see if you know the song already.

And what you think of the operatic version of it.

Oh! I definitely have heard the song lots of times.

Going to listen to the tenors now.

Oh, that just sounds weird to me.

But I love the version.
