Both Paul's brothers are involved in the movie. Caleb and Cody looks very much like Paul so they can finish some shots he hasn't done before his death and they're gonna voice Paul as well.

He wasn't the only who lost someone but he did lose his longtime partner and friend. It's probably really hard to go on without him. Some people grieve longer also.

that's true, but vin didn't even want anything to do with the franchise until number 4... i'm saying the fourth because i can't count his tiny appearance at the end of three. can't do it! but, anyway, i've found his attitude about everything concerning paul's death a tad appalling. it feels like he's riding coattails tbh.

I get that. But yeah, the Fast franchise was always going to be his calling card (the character of Riddick as well), but once he decided to return full time to Fast things clicked. Fast Five was huge. Implausibly, these movies were making bank and the cast went on making movies with their good friends, until suddenly tragedy strikes.

VD (and the rest of the cast) is probably still in shock, slowly coming to terms with the fact that his buddy and partner is gone. I can't imagine them filming yet another scene thinking PW should be there with them. I didn't know Paul Walker and I'm still so sad about everything, so I'll give VD a pass because I sure wouldn't know how to handle such a painful situation.

Vin thought he was too good for TfaF movies. After his career stalled he came running back. The only thing I find appalling is him calling Paul "brother" all of a sudden. Everyone knows they didn't get along offscreen that well. In an interview Paul called Tyrese his "brother from another mother". Paul and Tyrese were very close.

edit: i don't want to be a negative nancy here! i'm sure this process is difficult for everyone involved. i'm just glad paul's brothers were able to step in for paul! it's such a beautiful gesture. truly.
