I'm glad the movie is getting good reviews.
I just checked in a website and the movie's commercial release is scheduled for the next February, the 10th. Two months from today.
I know the wait is long but at least now I have a date to look forward to.

Hey guys,

Just saw HOFD the other day. How pretty is Takeshi? I liked the story better than Hero but not as much as Crouching Tiger. Still I love all the twists it had! very good.

Has anyone seen Taegukgi? I just saw it today and it's AMAZING. I've been sobbing all the way through. The acting is fantastic. Love Bin Won now. Check out the IMDB link

sushi - you're not the only one! i started sobbing too, from start to middle to finish. its so touching, the way Taegukgi was made. and i still believe that Won Bin is my #1 Korean hottie...

and i takeshi! i like how quirky he is with this movie roles. and when he smiles, you just melt. well i do.

raissa - oh thats my wish list, MORE TIME! and sure, lets plan on something soon. i think my last saturday to work this year is only tomorrow....i think.

anabela - yeah at least HoFD is to be shown there! no sign of 2046 here, looks like i'll have to get it on video.

If only I could stretch the day to more than 24 hours I would. This is a first for me...I am actually getting myself a 2005 planner so I can jot down what I need to do in that specific day. I used to do it before but I wasnt consistent but this year its my New Year's resolution to stick to it! The remaining saturdays naman this year are the 18th and the 25th! Hay naku! Lets plan so you can introduce me to more Asian movies. I am ashamed to say that I may read about a lot of Asian movies but I never get around to watching them. Save for Crouching Tiger and Bend it like Beckham (I consider that an Asian Film coz the director is Indian and it revolves around Indian family), I havent watch much. Theres one more Indian film that I thought was interesting "Monsoon Wedding" but didnt watch it too! I heard about Taegukgi too and its getting good reviews!

nothing to watch.........

found this tho.....it's from imdb.com...today's date..

Chicago director Rob Marshall is finding filming on his latest movie Memoirs of a Geisha complicated, because his cast all speak different languages. Sony Studios refused to cast non-Asian actresses in the big screen adaptation of Arthur Golden's best-selling book about the life of a Japanese geisha, and boasts Chinese Ziyi Zhang and Li Gong, Malaysian Michelle Yeoh and Japanese Cary-hiroyuki Tagawa and Ken Watanabe amongst its stars. An insider on the Japanese set tells American gossip site Pagesix.com, "They hired a 'Pan-Asian' cast. So now they have Chinese, Japanese, Korean and other Asian actors and they have had to hire a load of interpreters, especially since there are like 15 Chinese dialects. It is costing a lot of time to do anything." Producer Lucy Fisher and Doug Wick adds, "We have a Chinese and Japanese interpreter. The movie may or may not be a day over schedule, but we are brilliantly on time for an epic and on budget."

I knew the movie was going to be sad so I had the tissues ready. I didn't think I'd start crying right at the beginning! And is Won Bin in anything else??? I really hope to see some more of his stuff. I'd never heard of him before but he was so good in this flm! I need some good recommendations. Oh yeah and it does help that he's cute.

And same goes for Takeshi! what movies of his would you recommend?

I'm going to check out Shiri next since the director is the same guy from Taegukgi and I will actually recognise Yun Jin Kim from LOST now. I hear Korean films are very good so any other recommendations would be much appreciated!

Sushi You may want to check this website You may find good recommendations for Korean movies there. I havent been really able to browse through this site since I am most often only at the korean drama threads but I did see that they also discuss movies there. And please pass along info on good Korean films.

sushi - the only other Won Bin movie i've seen is Guns and Talks . i believe that was his first movie, then Taegukgi. and he has another movie coming out soon. Guns and Talks is a funny movie.

raissa is our resident Korean entertainment specialist in our filipino forums, so its best to ask her especially when it comes to TV shows.

raissa - i like asian movies because they're so different plotwise and all that. one of my all time favorites is Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai. but in the contemporary scene, there are lottsss of really good ones. i can't even begin to explain it.

mukooh - i read somewhere that Memoirs of a Geisha is filming also at the Huntington Gardens (Arcadia).

Unfortunately, korean movies are never released here.
We only get to see korean movies at festivals, or at the cinemathèque.

i watched 2046 today with my sister, even we're dead tired because we started our day at 7am. i drove to the cinema even my legs were really tired of walking here and there just to watch the film. nways, we just got there, well, in time. we sorta missed 1 or 2 min of the beginning of the movie. it's long! well, all WKW films are long, so what's new. i told my sis of what to expect when watching a WKW film. Tony Leung Chiu Wei is so great! i wish he got that Golden Horse award instead of Andy Lau, though he was also good in IF3. of course, TL aka Mr Chow is a writer. it's ok if u haven't seen ITMFL coz u would still get the story of 2046 coz WKW provided some scenes from ITMFL for flashback and stuff. it kinda helps also if uv seen ITMFL coz ul get to understand better what have happened to TL's character in the story. i really find Faye Wong really pretty in the film. she's just so appealing. Karena Lau's role isn't that much. and of course, Zhang Zhiyi was so pretty in the film. oh! and there's a part between her and TL. hehe... and Takuya... he looked older that he is in one part of the film and totally hot on the other part. Maggie Cheung has some cameo. and this one guy that i know for sure has also been in other WKW films is also in the film. somehow, i don't know his name. as what the DJ said in one of the local radio stations, 2046 is a really great film!! even it took years before it was finally finished.

Isy: i was listening to NU on the way to ATC just before watchign 2046 and that's what the DJ said. grabe! as in i was really tired na coz we went to the Senate to look for some stuffs for my sister's tsis and then i meet up with Gill and Abbu at Glorietta. good thing that we're just right in time for the 310 screening. pare, ganda!

Fla: gurl! no theater near u that plays 2046?! u should watch it! i mean, im really a big fan of TL so it's really a must for me to watch it. ganda pare! galing!

Marie: u have a copy of A Tale of Two Sisters? im freaked out by the cover actually. lol btw, i bought this bootleg copy of Naked Weapon. lol im gonna watch it after finishing this project of mine.

re Windstruck, im gonna wait for my copy, c/o Chrissie.

Rai: eh! glad to read about the good review of HFD. it should have good reviews since it's a really good movie. i hope i can buy the original dvd.

Sushi: speaking of Takeshi. i was looking for some dvds earlier and there's this one girl who was able to get that one dvd of Takeshi ahead of me. i was kinda pissed coz she's like, not really paying attention to it and i was telling my sis that i think it's a new movie of him, then she told the girl that she's gonna buy it and it's the one and only copy!! grrr...
