He left the Unit when dealing with the victims became to much for him. I think he was only in the first several episodes and then he transfered out. I want to know who Brian is that Olivia slept with. Next weeks episode looks really good...I cant wait for it..I will be disappointed if they give her AIDS, I hope its just a scare.

fetch, I'm glad you're getting to see the show regularly. I never saw many of the first SVU episodes either.

no one wanted to post about the Low Down episode? I was feeling it big time for the wife. Well for all the wives...you gotta wonder if after she found out she had aids...if she told the friend's wives as well.

I found this article on Chris and Mariska and thought it was cute.

Quote:
MARISKA HARGITAY and her co-star, Chris Meloni, have plenty of intense, serious chemistry on "Law & Order: SVU." Rarely do the detectives they portray so excellently crack wise, laugh out loud or smile. Well, dealing with New York sex crimes is nothing to laugh about.

In real life, Chris and Mariska are just a couple of nuts. They joke, poke one another in the ribs, play tricks on each other and seem to be light years from their intense TV characters. Anybody who got up close and personal with these two at the recent GLAAD awards, saw the pair at their playful best.

Both these actors are extroverts but not in a "look at me!" way. They are cooperative and patient with their many fans. Meloni, who looks younger in person, couldn't leave his table without being dragooned into personal photo ops, autographs and hand-shaking and backslapping. He was open to each and every request. One woman shoved her male escort aside, saying as he was shaking hands with Chris, "I think he'd prefer to talk to me!"

Hargitay, observing this, quipped, "Oh, he just loves it!" She was within in earshot of Meloni, who then began sending fans to her. One admirer was telling her what Meloni had said, and she turned, pointed a finger at her co-star and said, laughing: "You're dead meat!" (Mariska was a stunner on this night, glamorous and movie star-ish. It's a nice change from her tough policewoman severity. Although that has its own sex-appeal!)

Both actors seem OK with the perilously thin line "Law & Order" sometimes runs of late with their ripped-from-the- headlines plots. Asked about a recent "Michael Jackson related" episode, Mariska said, "Well, look, it's all stuff that needs to be talked about. Of course, we do alter certain facts." Speaking of Jackson himself, she commented: "It's the contrasting light and the dark that fascinates me. The magic that Michael Jackson was - his musical genius - and then all the strangeness."

Meloni approached with good-natured sarcasm, "Oh, are you being told that the 'whole Liz Smith office' loves you? Well, nobody said that to me. No 'whole office' loves me!" Mariska pushed him, "Can you blame them?" She added, "You see, this is what it's like on the set. You'd never believe we do a serious show."

OK, here's my suggestion. After Alec Baldwin and Anne Heche complete their Broadway run in "Twentieth Century," let's have the producers cast Meloni and Hargitay. They'd be smashing - and truly hilarious in this grand, old Hecht- MacArthur comedy. (Mariska did tell us, "Chris and I definitely want to do a comedy!")

OH, YES - Chris Meloni has a beautiful, blonde wife, production designer Sherman Williams, and she seemed to enjoy watching her famous husband rush from one end of the Marriott Marquis ballroom to the other, pursued by fans. She is proud of her guy. And vice versa.

Tonight's episode: Painless
Quote:
RAPE OR SUICIDE?; MARLEE MATLIN GUEST STARS -- When a team of maids stumbles across a female resident bound and nearly suffocated in her bed, Detectives Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Benson (Mariska Hargitay) believe the woman to be a rape victim and search for her attacker. However, when the victim commits suicide while recovering in the emergency room, the detectives discover the alleged rape was actually staged as part of a suicide pact the woman had with a local physician (guest star Marlee Matlin, "The West Wing"). Dann Florek, Richard Belzer, Ice-T and Diane Neal also star. TV-14
ETA And here is tvguide.com's watercooler report on the 4/27 episode listed above:
Quote:
Law & Order: SVU
I think the writers got a little overzealous, ripping just a few too many plots from the headlines and cramming them all into this one episode. There was a deaf female doctor suffering from not one, but two debilitating and possibly life-threatening diseases, a cultish website that provides details on how to end one's life, coping with manic depression, a lovers' spat, several suicide attempts and a revelation from a long-time cast member about his dad's death. Spread the wealth. With the Law & Order moniker attached to the title, this series will likely be around for another 10 years, and those ideas might come in handy somewhere down the line. Just a thought.

Mean (repeat)
Quote:
WHEN IT DOESN'T STOP AT NAME CALLING - When a teenage girl is murdered, Detectives Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Benson (Mariska Hargitay) search for a suspect. However, when they discover their victim was a fearsome high school bully who enjoyed tormenting other girls, the detectives are left with a school full of suspects. Dann Florek, Richard Belzer, Ice-T and Diane Neal also star. TV-14
Second episode 5/18 @ 10pm eastern/9pm central
Head (Season Finale)
Quote:
VIDEO VOYEURISM UNCOVERS A SEXUAL ASSAULT IN THE SEASON FINALE - In the season finale, after being caught in the act of videotaping women in a Manhattan restroom, a disturbed voyeur informs Detectives Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Benson (Mariska Hargitay) of a sexual assault against a minor whom he caught on tape -- changing the scope of their investigation as they now hunt for the pedophile. Based on the limited evidence from the videotape, the detectives attempt to retrace the events leading up to the assault and focus their attention on the victim's female school principal - and are surprised to find that their suspect is preparing up a bizarre defense. Diane Neal, Dann Florek, Richard Belzer and Ice-T also star. TV-14
ETA: from The Starr Report
Quote:
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" star Ice-T mixes business with pleasure when his real-life fiancee, Coco, makes her acting debut as a porn queen on tomorrow's episode (10 p.m./Ch. 4).

"She brings a real spark and comic touch to her scene with Ice-T and we hope to see her again in a future episode," says "SVU" executive producer Neal Baer.

fetch Well there was Dean Winters aka Det. Brian Cassidy. I think he left toward the end of the 1st season. And there was Michelle Hurd, aka Monique Jeffries who left at the in season 2.

Hope that helps.

Hi! I have recently caught on to the greatness that is Law and Order: SVU. I really love the show, and am kicking myself that I haven't stopped to watch it before. One of my favorites on the show is the psychologist. I'm going to be majoring in psychology in college, and I have been really interested in forensic psychology. I can't wait to ketch up with this long running, great show.
