A fifth. Wow! I love how they plan things out and can always see a new way to do things.

A 5th one? Well, damn!

I'll be there, watching, when (and if) it comes, though.

Dennis Farina was supposed to be on the Today show this morning. Did anyone catch it?

Nah, I didn't watch.

I am at work at that time, anyway.

This is from tvguide.com on Thursday:
Quote:
SCENE STEALERS: Here's a Law & Order twist Dick Wolf probably didn't see coming: In one of this fall's most hotly contested face-offs, the debut of CSI: New York killed Wolf's seemingly unstoppable Law & Order last night. The latest CSI spin-off averaged 18.5 million viewers, while L&O attracted 15.6 million viewers. (Me? I blame Elisabeth Rohm.) ...
and this from Matt Roush's "dispatches":
Quote:
As for the clash of the franchises, CSI: NY was the clear winner over Law & Order, although the venerable NBC series dominated the 9 pm/ET hour with its first of two back-to-back episodes. Both of the Law & Order episodes were above average and unusually topical (dealing with the war in Iraq and the psychological fallout from 9/11), although each ended with anticlimactic, unambiguous convictions. But even at its best, the show has been damaged by cast rot, especially in the second half. Though dapper Dennis Farina is a colorful and energetic replacement for Jerry Orbach, it's hard not to pine for Briscoe's mordant wit at a crime scene or in the interrogation room.
I got home late but taped the L&O episodes and a friend taped CSI:NY (which I watched last night so I could return the tape). Personally, I think the ratings will even out over time. I plan to keep taping one and watching the other "live" as long as they are head-to-head.

Five shows? Wow. Why not make an L&O channel or something to help accomadate them all.

Hee. I definitely would watch it the time too. They'd probably never run out of eps either.

Probably not. I wonder how big they'll be able to make the L&O franchise before people get tired of it. Or even if people will get tired of it. I say 7.

I hope this doesn't mean that Carey Lowell isn't on board for Trial By Jury. I was really looking forward to seeing her again.

Here's an article about the ratings on Wednesday night. Basically it says that L&O is still losing to CSI: NY - 'L&O' DOA

As for Carey Lowell, I know at one time there was talk about rotating attorneys and judges.

Thanks for posting that article.

Jeez, "L&O, DOA"? Don't break out the bodybags just yet. Just because a show is down for the first time in years doesn't mean it's dead. Far from it.

There's still a certain novelty to CSI: NY that I'm sure will wear off.

I've not seen the show, but I assume it's exactly the same as CSI and CSI: Miami, just with a different cast and similar characters? Which one is this programme's Grissom?! I should really ask this at the CSI board since we're all watching L&O...
