Very funny.

Well I hope they're keeping it as a surprise, dragonfire. I couldn't imagine the old gang coming back without Bill Murray. And yes, I agree. It's not gonna be the same without Harold/Igon.

Thanks, but I already knew that, dragonfire. They posted that on the Legends of Tomorrow thread. Brandon Routh and Tom Welling are both reprising their Superman characters, along with Tyler. Now all they need is Dean Cain.

Well, the crossover is called Crisis On Infinite Earths. Oh, here's something interesting from the first and second articles.
Quote:

Arrow co-creator/executive producer Marc Guggenheim addressed the significance of the casting.

“For eight years, Arrow has stood on the shoulders of Smallville. Simply put, there would be no Arrow, and no Arrowverse, without it,” he said. “So when we first started talking about Crisis on Infinite Earths, our first, second and third priorities were getting Tom to reprise his iconic role as Clark Kent. To say that we’re thrilled would be a Superman-sized understatement.”

Erica Durance is joining her Smallville co-star Tom Welling in the CW’s upcoming DC Arrowverse crossover. She will be reprising her role as Lois Lane in multiple episodes of the five-night event.

The crossover will reveal where Welling's Clark Kent and Durance’s Lois Lane characters are almost 10 years after Smallville.

Yes, I've already heard, dragonfire. But thanks.

Yeah, the Arrowverse is doing it's own version of the Crisis On Infinite Earths, sum1. You know, that thing you hated?

We'll see if the Crisis kills off Supergirl or Hoechlin's Superman.

Read up on the comic. I'm not in a condition to explain.

Thanks for the links, dragonfire! Happy 80th birthday to the Batman!

I hope you feel better, sum1.

Supergirl was one of the casualties of the Crisis On Infinite Earths back in the 1980s, Rita. Barry Allen(The Flash) was also one of the casualties, and Wally West(the original one) took over as The Flash and was the only character with any memory of the previous timeline. Crisis was DC's way of cleaning house back in the 80s when they were trying to simplify their continuity by eliminating their multiple universes and combining their elements into one timeline, and also make their universe more grounded in reality to better compete with Marvel, who by the 1980s had surpassed them in comic book sales for the first time.

yes, I've seen the front cover. I'm guessing it will be one or more of the alternate Earth ones.

Bob Iger Says Fox Movies Were Failing Before the Disney Purchase
Quote:
The inside baseball of that acquisition has been a topic of conversation for quite some time, and it looks like Disney CEO Bob Iger is being candid about it. In a new interview with The New York Times, Iger spoke about the status of the assets before the deal was officially done, and argued that Fox's movies weren't succeeding.

“It wasn’t a slap-down,” Iger revealed. “It was an admission that the movies that they had made failed. And I actually gave then a tremendous amount of cover by saying that when companies are bought, processes and decision making can come to a halt."

“There were problems at that studio well before the deal was announced." Iger continued. "But the reason I did not believe that it was something we should be concerned about is because it’s a short-term problem. And with the talent that we have at our studio, that are now supervising with some of their executives all the movies that they decide to make and how they are made, I’m convinced that the turnaround can happen. It’s not a snap your fingers, but it’s not 10 years of lost value. It’s a year and a half.”

Disney's First Star Wars Plans Were "Too Much, Too Fast" According to Chairman Bob Iger
Quote:
There have been plenty of criticisms about the Star Wars franchise ever since Disney purchased Lucasfilm nearly five years ago. Even though the franchise has made billions of dollars at the box office, dominated home video sales, produced fan-favorite animated series, and is set to expand into live-action shows with the creation of Disney+, the disappointing box office of Solo: A Star Wars Story along with the divisive response to Star Wars: The Last Jedi has caused some vitriol from fans. And with the lackluster response to the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge expansion at Disneyland this year, it seems like Disney chairman Bob Iger agrees.

During an interview with the New York Times released this weekend, Iger admitted that they might have overextended with the Star Wars franchise, possibly getting too ambitious after the Lucasfilm purchase was finalized.

"I just think that we might’ve put a little bit too much in the marketplace too fast," explained Iger. "I think the storytelling capabilities of the company are endless because of the talent we have at the company, and the talent we have at the company is better than it’s ever been, in part because of the influx of people from Fox."

Lucasfilm's initial plan for the franchise included finishing the Skywalker Saga with new installments of a trilogy released every other year, while the anthology films under the banner of "A Star Wars Story" would premiere in between. But after Rogue One and Solo, Disney backed off of that frequency and instead shifted their focus to new live-action shows coming to the Disney+ streaming service.

You saw the cover? Yeah, that was back in 1985, and that was for real. They actually killed off Supergirl back then, but they eventually brought her back in the last 1990s.

Thanks, dragonfire. But I think it was pretty obvious that Fox was mismanaging their franchises. It's a shame because they really had a chance to do great things after First Class, Days of Future Past, Logan, and Deadpool, but then they just screwed it up all over again, just like they did with The Last Stand and X-Men Origins. And don't get me started on their Fantastic Four movies. But I still wish that Fox had bought out Marvel entirely back in the 1990s and not let Sony or Disney get their hands on anything. James Cameron was originally going to do a Spider-Man movie for Fox back in the early 1990s before the project fell through. I'd rather Fox have everything than Disney. And yeah, I think it's obvious that Disney screwed up Star Was ten ways to Sunday. But that has to do with Kathleen Kennedy and the producers just not knowing what to do or how to do it. I wish Lucas had just ended everything in the 80s.
