Watched some more superhero tv trailers, DC mostly. Flash looks a dumb, corny, low-level teen show and the main actor is so lame in the role. Legends of Tomorrow looks pretty much like a kids' show. Not impressive. Supergirl looks corny. Arrow doesn't look THAT bad, but it's not impressive either. There's also some new show called Krypton. The trailer doesn't show enough to give you a real idea of the show, but it looks a bit better made than the others. Maybe. It's Syfy rather than CW. As for Marvel, Inhumans still looks damn lame. Definitely the best superhero shows being put out these days are the Marvel Netflix ones.

Finished Luke Cage. Good stuff, but not as good as Jessica Jones. On the other hand, its mentality is healthier than that of the latter show. The earlier part of Luke Cage season 1 is better than the later part. The earlier part has some great stuff, such as Luke's raid on the crimelord's cash stash. The later part gets bogged down in Luke Cage's version of Kryptonite ("Judas bullets" that can kill bullletproof heroes, stupid invention) and Luke wandering around wounded. Picks up a bit at the end. Mike Colter and Rosario Dawson are particularly good.

Started Daredevil, despite deciding previously not to bother with it. It's better than I expected. Charlie Cox is still too much the posh Brit (nobility in his family, no less) to be Matt Murdock, who's a working class Irish American, but he does a better job than expected. As for the guy who plays Foggy Nelson... well, his face bugs me. The fight with the guy who came to knife Karen Page in the first episode went on tediously too long. Daredevil is supposed to be one of the best fighters around. He should be able to deal with a common hitman faster than that. Nice to see Jessica from True Blood as Karen. She's very relatable and likeable. She has a certain earnest sincerity.

Edited my post since you posted, in case you're interested.

In Luke Cage two characters who are black in the comics are made into Hispanics. I'm not enthusiastic about character race changes, but Rosario Dawson is part black anyway and she's great in the role of Claire Temple. When the actor is good enough it can justify such a change, like with Idris Elba as the Norse god Heimdall in Thor. Theo Rossi is also good as Shades (the other character switched from black to Hispanic), though not as good as Rosario is. She's the best thing in the show apart from Mike Colter, who plays the lead role. Colter's conviction and strength really carry the show.

Thanks, sum1. I haven't watched any of the Netfilx shows, so I don't know much about them other than what's in the comics. I do like that Deborah Ann Woll is on Daredevil. I loved her as Jessica on True Blood.

Jessica was one of my favorite characters on True Blood.

Well, I've liked the character of Daredevil since I read the Daredevil: Man Without Fear miniseries (about his origin, and by Frank Miller and John Romita Jr) back in 1993/1994.
