Now, Voyager is cool cause she transforms from a fated spinster into a socialite and then takes her BF’s antisocial daughter under her wing.
I find it interesting that the great dames of the golden age were women who didn’t let people control or over power their personalities, a lot of them were strong women in real life like Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Katherine Hepburn! __________________

They were strong women, but I also think they compromised too. Like, they were very much of their time and they got involved in a man's world with genius, so I'm not complaining or criticizing them. But they were creating a path that didn't exist before for women, so you know they had to compromise.

It didn't sound sad when Norman described it... why is it sad?

One of my favourite classics is later in her career, but Bette Davis and Joan Crawford in "What Ever Happened To Baby Jane?"

That's what I liked about Bette Davis! She wasn't all about her image of a glamour movie star, she was willing to coat herself in pancake make up and look grotesque in the later years.
That was a good movie!! But horrible though, does anyone think Blanche lived? Bette's daughter played the teenage neighbor girl. __________________

Bette Davis's daughter's the one who wrote that Mommy Dearest book, right?

Ok here is the deal on their daughters
Joan Crawford's daughter Christina wrote "Mommie Dearest". Bette Davis' daughter also wrote a similar type of book. But if you ask me, Christina had a legitimate abuse story. Bette Davis was a responsible mother and didn't have the mental problems Joan did. So she was alive and also hurt and wrote her daughter out of inheritance. (after the book was published) Joan had already written her daughter out of her will before she passed away. __________________

Thanks! I wanted to continue loving Bette Davis, so I'm glad she wasn't a crappy mother.
