Saw 'The Post', thought it was a good film

, must say, although I thought Meryl did give a very good performance, I thought Tom was great..

You're right. I should have been clearer.

I just meant that his character is less of a transformation than whatever Gary Oldman did to become Winston Churchill. And he's not purported to be retiring from acting.

Mind you, I do think it's great that the guy from Get Out was nominated. The Oscars are always limited and exclude many important performances, but we also know they have a nasty tendency to simply ignore "genre" pictures.

I do too concerning 'Get Out', very good film and wonderful performance.

I've not seen 'Darkest Hour' yet, but I plan too, but, for me, just because an actor transformed for a role doesn't mean he's better than an actor who didn't
