I really love York too, and it's only 14 miles by car from where I live. I've been there loads of times - unfortunately most of those were for hospital appointments and operations etc. However, on the odd occasion I get to go and be a tourist, it's amazing!

York and Bath are my favorite cities in England. I currently live in London after living out in LA for 26 years of my life but a job transfer got me "back" to my roots since I was born in London. Now my wife who is British whom I met in San Diego CA has mentioned that I'm finally starting to lose my American accent. But before my family emigrated to Cali, I had a strong Cockney accent so maybe my original accent is slowly coming back
I know England is very small but there is so much to see and do plus London has endless things you can do

Yes, I feel lucky to live in England, as there are so many beautiful and historic places. Also, being an island, we're never too far away from the seaside!


I thought I'd share some of my Leicester photos. My family live there so it's very special to me and it's a great historic city with lots of great shops and pubs! I live 100 miles away though.
