Kim, I like having people somewhat around, but not a shadow! True, it’s hard to do things when you know someone is just watching you all the time. Crazy making for me and probably you too

I really need to do more things than just read about doing them

I don’t think I’ve ever slept in a theatre during a movie, I think it’s my sensory issues though with loud noise.

I think it's a matter of circumstance, personally.

To fall asleep, I need a warm bed in a cool room, utter darkness and earplugs otherwise any change in the level of shadow or any sound all keep me awake. And then, every once in a while, I'll fall asleep on my couch when the upstairs neighbour's child is playing skipping rope inside.

It is annoying, but that's my point. However difficult it is for me to fall asleep at night, not even the skipping rope prevents me from conking out on my couch sometimes.

Granted with the movie.. it was too dark and I was having blood sugar issues, plus my anxiety was a little too high because I kept putting off to go see the movie with my friend. I didn’t want to hurt her feelings when she asked if I wanted to hang out with her. She’s special needs and I always love hanging out with her. It’s just hard because she has a lot of hard times getting around and my fear is she will always fall because she has fallen with me twice already and I’ve helped her up.

I know how because of my grandmother. I think the most is that it scares me for her because it saddens me too, to see what she’s going through and I get that she’s Deaf, however when we’re at Movie Tavern. I ask her a question, or the staff asks she answers loudly the only thoughts I can think of are those who are staring our way or telling us to be quiet. I love being in an area where she is comfortable and can move around easier. I have to sometimes help her with her money. She always wants to pay for herself. Great, o problem.

It teaches her independence, but she’s not good at math and I usually know how much what she get is going to cause even if I suck at math too I use my calculator to get her total for her then I use a tip calculator for her bill as well and always ask her if she’s okay with the total. I have found myself going back over her totals to make sure she is giving the correct amount to a waiter/waitress.

I had asked the manager to help her outside to make sure she didn’t fall as I walked behind her so I could run and get my car and she didn’t want that but the manager agreed and saw my fear. I asked for a staff member to help her walk to her seat, she didn’t want that but finally caved in when she saw how dark our theatre was.
