I think they jacked up the delivery charges here because they do know that most people will opt for that which is unfair. Even now with the lockdowns over here, prizes are up. Our government keeps saying that they're doing this to re-start the economy but it's us who are suffering.

IKR? I'm not watching AI right now (I haven't been for a while tbh  ) but how are they doing it live?

So sorry about work being stressful. At least we still have work when millions are unemployed now. :( Tbh I think what saved me was my tenure otherwise I'd be laid off. Do you usually have work on weekends?

I haven't been sleeping well these past few days so I'm very tired and will just rest up and stay in this weekend.

dancing in the rain 03-09-2021 12:58 AM

That's very unfair. The good thing is, you are still able to go pick up what you need and not pay that delivery charge when you can. The supermarkets here are also raising prices like crazy, so everything is double and triple what it was (we also have an issue with our currency so they're using that as an excuse). So whether you get it delivered or go get it yourself, it's the same super high price.

Yeah many have fallen out of watching it the past few years unfortunately. It doesn't feel too different so far in the auditions, but Ryan is visibly standing at a distance from the contestants, and the judges were usually touchy with emotional contestants, giving them hugs or standing next to them as they talk, so that's now also not happening.

Thank you  And yes very true, it's sad what things have gotten to with the pandemic. No not usually, I often put in some extra hours, but this time around, we had a very important project delivery on Sunday and there were some last minute things that were coming up so we had to work non-stop to get them done.

Sorry to hear that  Hope everything's okay and that you got to make up for it during the weekend.

L i N d $ @ y 03-09-2021 07:58 PM

That sucks. And considering a lot of people are unemployed too and prizes are up. :(

Are they still shooting in L.A. (the show I mean)?

Ah i thought you had to work on weekends but I understand that some work stuff gets carried over during the weekends.

I had a busy day at work yesterday but I've been sleeping more now otherwise I'd get really cranky and irritated easily because of the lack of sleep. I hope this week for you (so far) is much better than mine. :)

dancing in the rain 03-13-2021 03:59 AM

Yeah exactly, it's pretty much a mess right now. People are even going in the streets in protest.

One of the spots is LA  They also filmed in San Diego and Ojai. I think that's pretty much it, that being another change because of Covid, the judges only went to those places and the contestants went to them.

Yeah the weekends are not part of the schedule but we do work throughout whenever we need to. I don't think I've had a fully free weekend since Summer of last year though :look:

Aw that makes sense, glad you've been able to sleep a bit better the past few days and hope you'll be able to rest even more this weekend. Was work better since then too?

L i N d $ @ y 03-13-2021 08:07 PM

At least they still managed to get on with the show. I've often wondered how they were gonna do live shows with Covid still on-going.

OMG really? :( You do get paid for working on weekends which is at least a consolation?

Work was okay. It's usually slow the first two weeks and picks up the last 2 weeks because of month end (and the rush to meet quota, I work in sales). For last week I've requested to work from home since I wasn't feeling well but I'm back at the office this week.

dancing in the rain 03-14-2021 03:14 AM

Yeah I'm sure it will need a lot more precautions. Other shows have been doing the live shows, like The Masked Singer and DWTS. DWTS did it without an audience and TMS did it with minimal audience and "recorded" cheers. I guess we'll see how AI will be doing it.

I do not, because other than this past weekend, it's mostly "unofficial" and it's just normal work carrying over. Also these past few months, we've been a bit understaffed, so what should have been regular week work needed some more hours over the weekend.

Ah okay, makes sense, so it might be picking up in the coming weeks. Glad you're feeling better, hopefully it won't be too bad and good luck with meeting your quota (if you haven't already)

L i N d $ @ y 03-14-2021 08:15 PM

Oh yeah other competition shows are doing it and I guess as long as safety protocols are followed then AI should be fine.

That sucks. You're not supposed to work on weekends so that means you have to get paid, even if it's spillover from the week's work.

Tbh it's really hard to meet quota. I work for a non-life insurance company and it hasn't been good but what I do like about my company is that we managed to still work during the lockdowns last year and no one was laid off (except the contractual employees). We're trying to get by and I'm just thankful to still be employed and my tenure with the company helped otherwise I'm probably laid off already. :look:

I hope this week will be good for you at work. :)

dancing in the rain 03-17-2021 06:51 PM

Yeah hopefully it goes well for them  Nick (host of Masked Singer) did catch it but not sure it if was was during the show or not.

We usually got good bonuses and raises at the end of the year, especially when it was work-heavy, but at this point, we're just lucky we're still getting paid in full.

That's too bad about things being slower but I guess it makes sense with everything, and glad your company hasn't been on the shorter end of the straw with things still being mostly working out.

It has been going well, hope yours has been going well too

L i N d $ @ y 03-17-2021 08:04 PM

I hope Nick is fine now and that he didn't have any severe symptoms.

You are lucky indeed. We're not getting full salary since the pandemic began. We used to have profit sharing every year but last year (and this year) we don't get any.

Yeah it's at least trying to stay afloat but we have to take budget cuts. Otherwise all of us will be added to the ever growing unemployment rate in my country.

Summer already started here early this month so it's been hot and humid. We're getting this weather until June and then typhoon season until November. How is the weather over there? :)

dancing in the rain 03-21-2021 02:36 AM

Hope so too  Neicy Nash is guest hosting the show until he's good to come back.

It really sucks that so many are suffering because of everything. Hopefully as the situation with Covid starts getting better, the economy does too.

Summer is my least favourite season because of the humidity. It's still good now, the best kind of weather, not too cold anymore but not Summery yet.

Hope you're having a good weekend

L i N d $ @ y 03-21-2021 09:15 PM

It's good that they were able to find a replacement for Nick.

It's hard. I have a job but I don't get full pay. :(

Yeah the humidity is really what gets me. Sometimes I'd take rainy season because at least it's cooler but yeah, it's still humid when it rains.

You too! It's month end for me next week so here we go with the quotas again.

dancing in the rain 03-26-2021 01:17 AM

Yeah and she's fun which is good, some host replacements just don't work.

Sorry to hear that :( And good luck with your quota, hopefully it's easier this month.

Ah rainy weather with humidity does not sound fun. I don't enjoy Wintery weather but at least it rids us of the heat and humidity here.

Almost the weekend again!

L i N d $ @ y 03-26-2021 08:24 PM

Thanks Ray. It's been tough but if we don't make quota, it'll be carried over for next month.

My problem with cold weather is it dries up my skin. We get cold weather here on December/January and I had breakouts that time. I had to lay off on the make-up for a while.

Finally! I'm doing some errands today but for the most part it's gonna be a lazy weekend for me. Do you have work this weekend or you'll be resting/spending time with loved ones? :)

dancing in the rain 03-31-2021 10:55 AM

That sucks, I'm the same way, but my skin dries up so much that it actually breaks and I have what looks like like cuts all over.

Hope you were able to finish those errands and relax over the weekend.

I also had some errands to run on Saturday. And no I didn't have work, and I was really not in the mood for it anyway, so yeah on Sunday, I slept in, something I haven't done in years I think, and then just hung out.

L i N d $ @ y 03-31-2021 08:15 PM

Ouch. Mine is dry and flaky. In the summer it's much better but I'm prone to acne around that time.

I don't have work today and tomorrow because of Easter so I'm back at work on Monday. :woot: I'm staying over at my mom's house to spend time with her and grandma. :)

I have those days where I barely get any sleep which really affects my mood. And then those days where I get too much sleep and get lazy. So I want to have that balance like you where I get sleep and feel great and I only really have that on weekends. :sigh:
