Another weekend ahead, I hope you enjoy it! I went out with my sisters tonight, there's the annual light festival in my hometown this weekend, so we went to see the different artworks around the town, they were nice. |

So I guess it’s better to move the virus discussion here... Like I mentioned, the European championship of football (Euro2020) that was supposed to happen this summer got postponed to next summer. :pout: I realize it’s necessary but it still sucks. Like I mentioned, our national team qualified for the first time ever (thanks for the congrats by the way :D) and my sister, my brother-in-law and I actually got tickets to one of the games. So we’ll have to wait a year longer but I guess it gives us time to get travel and accommodation taken care of, we had procrastinated on that a bit. xD Also like I mentioned, there have been some massive measures taken here, lots of public places are closed and we should avoid all the unnecessary public outings. I’m just happy that just before things got serious here late last week, the previous weekend my sister and I went to an art museum to see a great exhibition, and my niece and I went to a virtual reality game house, which was my b-day gift to her (from last year actually xD) so I got that taken care of. And last weekend after the restrictions had been placed, my sisters, their kids, my brother-in-law and I went to the park on Saturday and to a little camping trip on Sunday, so we got to spend time together outdoors. How are things with you? Hopefully well, and stay safe. |

Spoiler:
With the spread of this virus being so quick, that is the safer route. That's great you got to do those outings and spend time with your family right before this whole thing started to become more serious. Those sound like fun plans too. Better late than never for that year-late gift xD Quote:
-- From Post Count thread xD
Spoiler:
They should be more lenient nowadays with this being an unusual situation that's affecting everyone. And hope so too for no casualties for you.
Spoiler:
Yeah, since Thursday 12th, it has taken a bit to get used to but it's working much better now. At this point, it is necessary. Sleeping longer is definitely a welcome perk xD It doesn't work much for me unfortunately because my team does an online short meeting every morning so I need to be up for that. Schools and universities have been closed for a couple of weeks now, and businesses and shops (other than grocery stores and pharmacies) since Monday. Shopping online might be a good way to go, here we've resorted to phone orders since it is the safer choice rather than being around other people.
Spoiler:
Being bummed about it is understandable. We've only been home-bound for 10 days now and I already miss my regular Saturday plans xD That is too bad about you already had plans for it, but that is a silver lining about needing more prep time... although you probably just needed a couple additional weeks, not a whole year xD And at least that's not something that can be cancelled, just rescheduled. Other than all that, hope you're having a good weekend  |
Hi Ray! Bumping this thread up!
|
Hey Lindsay! Thank you  How are things for you in these strange times?
|
I'm doing fine all things considered. I'm either working from home or at the office, it all depends but employer is encouraging me to work from home.
How are things with you>? :) |
That's good they're not one of those insisting the employees come in regardless of the situation.
It's fine for me too, work-wise it's been full-time from home for a while now. At one point we were going to the office for a couple of days a week, but it wasn't working out so well. The main thing that is annoying at this point are the frequent lockdowns, because you still need to go out every once in a while for errands and such, and that gets complicated with official lockdowns. |
Over here we haven't been in a strict lockdown since July last year. There are still restrictions but we're pretty much used to it by now. I still haven't seen my grandma since December 2019 as she's isolated (98 yo). I'll go to the office and not stay there for long. It used to be just 30% of employees going to work, now it's 50%. I'm in a pandemic fatigue already and we still don't have vaccines here. :sigh:
I have no work today (special non-working holiday meaning no work no pay) and will be away this weekend. I hope you have a great weekend ahead and have time to relax and unwind. :) |
Yeah the restrictions we got used to, but then idiotically they allowed New Year celebrations and opened everything over Christmas and New Year, and the numbers spiked like crazy  So now they're trying to clean up their mess by going 180 on us and making us pay the price.
That is another thing that sucks, not being able to visit family as much anymore. I didn't see mine for half of 2020 then did a short visit over the Summer and haven't been to visit her again since. Hope the vaccines arrive there soon. And enjoy your weekend  |
Vaccines finally arrived today but majority of the people here are iffy. We had a vaccine gone wrong here last 2017 so the public is understandably very cautious.
Yeah we were scared of spikes over the holidays as well and we expected it. We're still getting thousands of cases everyday but these are mostly undetected cases so basically it's just confirming that we still have the virus here. I'd be more relaxed if we're getting less than 100/day but that seems impossible for us these days. :look: How was your weekend? :) I'm back at the office today. There's lots to do but I can manage. :) |
Seems pretty much exactly how things are going for us here, with the vaccine situation and the number of cases.
Even with it being in the thousands, I was still going out for grocery shopping and such, and of course taking all precautions. But over the past couple of months, they were asking us to actually get permits if we want to go literally anywhere, so it just made me less interested in going out even for the necessities, and I'm just ordering in. My weekend was okay. I've had a huge work load for the past couple of months, so weekends have been part work lately. I did get a chance to catch up on some of my shows which was fun. |
Same here. It was awfully strict here and my mom (who's a senior) literally can't go out so it was mostly me and my sister going out for groceries. We can order online of course but they cost twice more because of the delivery even though mom lives right across a mall.
Weekends for me is also on catching up on TV shows. I've mostly caught up just cause network TV in the US started late and there are only a handful of shows back compared to before. Streaming sites is where it's at for me so I don't need to get out of the house to watch a movie (even though they're still closed here). I do hope work for you won't be as stressful. Real-life is stressful enough as it is and work being stressful won't help at all. :sigh: |
That does suck and makes completely no sense about the delivery, especially in times like these when people are obliged to get delivery. It's been me and my sister getting the groceries for years now, but with the lockdowns and needing to get a permit for every step you make outside, delivery was our best option.
Yeah shows being back has been a mess with all the Covid stuff. We'd get 2 episodes then hiatus then one episode then hiatus. But at least it seems they've gotten into a groove now. With everything outside being closed, it's what's keeping us sane at this point. Work being stressful does not help for sure, especially when it's for an extended period of time. It's usually a couple of weeks, but this has been going on since the end of last year, so it's become too much. And on top of that, the next few days are even more stressful and I'll be working full time through the weekend for an important delivery on Sunday. |
