I don't know that Tom Hanks is in the cast. He and Spielberg are producing it. But,yes, that is a funny coincidence.
 And,no,Nosee,you won't have to go to OZ to see it. I imagine HBO will be advertising the heck out of it when it's ready to be seen. And if,like me,you don't get HBO...there's always the DVD's. Something this high-profile will definitely have DVD's. |

David Milch is gearing up to produce his fifth drama pilot for HBO in the last five years. According to The Hollywood Reporter, this one is entitled Last of the Ninth.
The series will return Milch to his gritty NYPD Blue roots. The show is said to be set at a New York Police Department in 1972. Milch stated, "It is about an older detective's mentoring of a young detective returned from Vietnam in a department fiscally crippled, under attack by revolutionaries, and which has been brought by allegations of systemic corruption into public disrepute." |

William Sadler - News Update!
Yep, the fun just keeps on coming! William Sadler is currently filming the new Frank Darabont take on a Stephen King short story, The Mist -- everyone may remember that the first time that happened, we got The Shawshank Redemption. So expect to hear a lot more about this one! Bill is also appearing in an upcoming episode of NBC's new series, The Black Donnelleys and the new Robin Williams flick, August Rush. So watch those local listings! __________________
