I've been watching the S1 and S2 dvds pretty much nonstop. Love the commentary and the extras are fun. The intro graphic screens are decent and the eps seem to be the classic eps not the remastered crap .. so I'm quite pleased.

Ah, this thread brings back memories....I first saw Red Dwarf in about 1991 - it was on a Sunday afternoon.....me and my mate from school thought it was extra hilarious because we went to school with a guy called Lister....
Speaking of which, I did the personality quiz and apparently I'm Dave Lister! Well, I do like a good curry.... __________________

My favourite ep was "Parallel Universe" for the longest time. Now it's a toss up between that and "Back to Reality".
Seems to be lots of Rimmer fans in this thread ... my favourite has always been Lister. Brutal. On another note, has anyone else read any of the Red Dwarf novels? If not, I highly recommend the first and second books, "Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers" and "Better than Life". They're both written by the original Red Dwarf writers, Grant Naylor, and contain elements of the first few seasons of the show, rearranged and with a lot of new material. And they're hysterical. The third and fourth books, "Last Human" and "Backwards" I didn't care for so much ... Rob Grant and Doug Naylor wrote them separately after they split as writing partners. Yeah I have the first two books. And they capture the flavor of the show. Quite well done. Haven't seen the other two.

I really enjoyed the first two books but "Last Human" and "Backwards" do lack that certain something.
and for fun... You're Dave Lister. King of the slobs, and master of insubordination, you try to make the best of your life even though you're the last living human. If only people would see things your way once in a while... they'd probably be in pieces by now Which Red Dwarf Character Are You? __________________

Hmm...this would explain alot...
You're Talkie Toaster. You're so sick of people taking you for granted. You could be so much more it's scary. You want to try to do more things, but are always greeted with "You're just a toaster." Damn them. Anyone want toast claudia __________________

I so adore Talky Toaster. I even used some of his lines at work yesterday. No one else seemed to get it. But I enjoyed it.

I was just searching through the Red Dwarf Website, and it looks like S3 and S4 should be out on DVD in North America by Feb. 2004.
