Taken Appreciation #1
Searched for a thread, but I couldn't find one.
I know this has been out for awhile, but I just rented the dvd's over 2 weekends, and I loved this mini-series. Some episodes were better than others, but I love how it followed through 3 generations of families over 50 years. Very interesting. Anybody else like Taken? __________________

Wow, somewhat involved, isn't it?

Somewhat. It was kinda fun.
I always meant to do a Taken/Roswell crossover fic... probably Mary Crawford coming after our beloved aliens. Never got around to it. |

I loved Taken. I thought it was a wonderful mini-series. I think the thing that I loved most about it was Dakota Fanning. Both her acting and the voice-overs that she did.

Thanks for posting the family tree picture!
Dakota Fanning was wicked. I can't believe she was only 8 years old when she filmed this movie. I agree, her voiceovers and acting were both awesome. I was reading on IMDB and the actress who played Mary Crawford was in Blair Witch Project! I knew she looked familiar. __________________

I LOVE this miniseries. So much I am forcing my friends and family to watch it.
My favorite generation is the first, I like John and Owen and Russell. Every episode was so intriguing and so different from anything else I've seen. I watch it all the time, I was even thinking about making a fansite to it. It's perfection in miniseries form Just kidding! I'm not that bad...yet... __________________

It is perfection! Exactly my thought after I watched them all. Now have officially converted my boyfriend's entire family, my family, and my best friend.
My fav. generation was Jesse & Jacob. __________________

I also Taken. It's one of the best I've seen. And I've managed to get everybody in my family to watch it to! Dakota Fanning is really an amazing child actor. I love her character as well as Charlie and Lisa.

Oh I love Taken. I even have the DvD...
What sucks it that it ends in a "to be continued" sort of way and we're left guessing. I wish the producers would have continued the story... like what happened to Charlie & Lisa? Did they have more children? They'd be just as powerful as Allie. And what happened to Allie? And Mary, she didn't die... So many questions were left unanswered. __________________

I loved Taken. I'm saving money to buy DVDs.
It was really a great mini-serie and the story involving three generations of three families was really intriguing (expecially the first one with Owen Crawford ) and obviously I couldn't stay away from it 'cause it was a show about aliens (and now I'm really sucked into the alien abyss) My favourite character was Allie, she was so wise . I love quoting her, so for Christmas I choose one of her voiceovers. G __________________

Definately one of the greatest sci-fi mini series I've ever seen!!!
My favorite generation was Charlie & Lisa because it all led up to Allie. (those 3 are my favorite characters). Eventually once I've saved enough I plan on getting the DVDs. I'm all ready saving up for the second soundtrack which I have yet to buy. Allies voice overs were great. I've read the book and I'd have to say that the tv series is way better since the book didn't have the voice overs. Loved it none the less. __________________
