My favorite couples on BTVS are Oz/Willow and Riley/Buffy. Also, considering all the couples on the show were always doomed, I'm just glad those two couples ended with some pretty good closure and none of them died.

That does make it hard to ship!
I identified with Willow in the early days because she was overlooked so much. That's why I liked how Oz noticed her. Unfortunately as she became a witch, I didn't identify much with her anymore, so I suppose I was less interested in her story later on. __________________

I was glad Oz instantly noticed Willow too, especially when she was so shy and insecure. Also glad he noticed her since Xander kept blowing her off, making her feel bad, and getting with everyone but Willow (He was basically always pouring salt in the wound, then whines when Oz starts to show interest in Willow. STFU) I was also glad to see Willow wanted Oz just as much as he wanted her, and she made the first move when she kissed him. That really showed her growing confidence. I always loved Willow, but I was happy to see her become more and more of a powerful witch. I loved that growth in her character IMO.

I did like many of the couples imo. I don't remember hating any of them right now it's been so long

I don't usually hate couples in shows, but some make more sense to me than others!

I like Tara, I would have liked her on the show longer. But Willow/Tara was just like bla. I was okay with it, just saw no passion. Of course back then it was pretty unusual to show passion between two women on television so that might be the problem

I felt like that too Rita. But as you say they were different times, maybe that is why.

True, Willow/Tara had that against them at the time (or any gay couples on TV around that time, which ridiculously wasn't even that long ago. I'm glad gay couples can be more romantic or sexual on TV now) on the WB, I only recall them kissing on screen once (During "The Body") They didn't get to finally kiss or have sex scenes on a regular basis until Buffy was moved to UPN. Back then, they also made a huge deal if a same sex kiss happened on screen (Like with Jack on Dawson's Creek or Bianca on All My Children) It seems completely ridiculous now, but I still remember they were scared to death to show same sex couples kiss or be intimate in the 90s and early 2000s SMH.
