I’m going to wait and see how this "reboot" unfolds before I give a solid yay or nay. I am curious though, I’ll admit that much.

Same here. I wonder if the Watcher's Council will be back?

Part of me wishes Xander will be the new watcher.

Well, he has the necessary experience.....at least some aspects of it. Maybe not the foreign languages, or the books on demons.

But he knows the life of a Slayer.

If they wanted to do a vampire slayer series, why Buffy and not someone else? There are plenty of choices, The Slayers Willow created in the finale or some other never before mentioned Slayer.

I will watch it to see how it is but they should not have gone with Buffy.

I think this interview took place before it was announced that the show would be a sequel instead.

They're not now. It's a sequel. Pretty sure they changed it after a large degree of the fandom reacted poorly to it.
