Official Buffy Sequel Thread #1: B/C ...it's a thing?
 

So, with the news lately of a planned reboot of the show, this is where any discussion of it will go.


Personally, I'm not enthusiastic about the idea whatsoever of a reboot.

I`m upset about it I never liked reboots at all because I dislike it when they do a show in this case Buffy with complete other actors. It´s so silly and redundant. I really wish that reboot wouldn`t have happend.

It's not even gonna be anything like real Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

She is gonna be African American this time.

I wouldn't even want a reboot with the orig. cast at this point either.

Just leave this classic show alone!

That´s also a problem that it will be so completely different.
And yes they should leave the classic show alone.

It sounds like what they did to Charmed.

It's just gonna be called Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

It shouldn't be called a reboot.

It should be called a remake.

Buffy isn't going to be SMG.

Someone else in the role makes it a remake not reboot.

Honestly, as I've said before to people who brought it up to me, I'm just not going to watch. Plain and simple. In my mind, the show is already perfect as it is, and I would rather not watch them ruin it.

I might check out the pilot out of curiosity to see what they do, but in general I don't care for it.

Honestly, the more I think about it, the entire idea of the reboot as they've presented it is...just stupid.

There's little need to reboot the entire series, let alone the characters themselves, when the show isn't that damn old. It easily could have just been a spin-off show, or something else. If they had gone the Star Trek route and just had a new cast with new adventures, it would have been fine, in my book.

Instead, they just wanna make a blatant cash-grab with this.

I don't understand why it has to be a recast of Buffy and the Scooby gang. It could be another slayer, in another town, with other friends.... There is still so many stories to tell. :)

I will definitely check it out. But they will fail if they think they can just recast our favorites. On the other hand, if they go for another 'generation' like they did for the fifferent crews of the starship Enterprise in 'Star Trek', then it could work.

We need more information about what their plans are.

If it's a straight up reboot, I absolutely hate it! :( If it's a spin-off following another Slayer and her friends, I'd probably watch it. I honestly have mixed feelings all around. It's not like Buffy has been off the air for 40 years or something. It's still very much alive in the comics and on streaming platforms. Ugh. Hopefully, sanity will prevail and they won't treat it like the awful "Roswell" and "Charmed" reboots.

I always wanted that Faith spinoff, they could still do that instead lol. Could see Faith and what has happened 15 years after the series finale.

Maybe they call it a Buffy reboot for now, but what they actually mean is a Slayer-reboot. Let's be honest, calling it the former will get them much more attention, for now.

It's hard to tell given they haven't announced much information.

Take about dislike for reboots Roswell was rebooted they are calling it Roswell New Mexico the trailer came out and it is a disaster! The Roswell fans all sit there on our board and are like what did they do to our beloved show! :eek:

Roswell was classic for a reason!

Buffy I feel it is a stand alone it is classic and nothing will be as good! It was one of a kind!

I feel like no show is safe for a reboot no a days! If it can be rebooted they will do it Nothing is sacred anymore!

Where has all of the creativity gone! :eek: :facepalm:
