Nah Soaps... no way. They are so boring to me and just repetitive and slow and cheesey... sorry. Not a fan.

I love lists too so I can see why this helps your brain not finish it with that LIST knowing most likely you will return to the "project" later. Very Capricorn. I love it of course.
You dont even want to see or hear about all the lists I have :lmao:. Its a bit insane.

I think I watched a few eps of season 5 of the resident and then stopped.

I have never checked out Greys if you can believe it. Is the series still on? It is going to outlive all of us.
WAHTTTTTTT. You gotta watch at LEAST the first 3 seasons because those season sare so so so good. Greys has always been good. Even 18 seasons later its still good. Its lost some of teh magic it had but it also has ups and downs. Like i know I liked seasons 6/7 and then some around season 10/11 or somehwere and then I think 15.... but it all kinda depends on the storylines that year. What greys does well is integrate characters in and out decently. And what makes it still good is the fact that the MAIN character is still there. If Meredith wasnt, I dont think the show would work the way it has. Because its like its following her journey on the show.

First watch?
Pretty much yes. Its weird how different shows were back in the 90s. Some not good things. They recently had an episode with transgender woman and some of the writing in there was SO cringey.

I did see a few episodes of ER, maybe even seasons when I was a young kid but I really dont remember much from it. I do remember a really intense shooting episode and them killing off a favorite character of mine, but that was about it lol.

Have you started watching the first 7 episodes of Stranger Things 4 yet?

ds44 06-08-2022 06:42 AM

um okay but a lot of shows still use their tropes. YMMV.

jediwands 06-08-2022 09:07 AM

Shu, what soaps do you watch? I have so many memories watching Days with my grandmother and mother. I couldn’t wait to watch it every day and if I couldn’t watch it due to sports we would watch a bunch of episodes on tape on the weekend. I also used to watch General Hospital with my cousins and sister. Great memories! I also remember an older soap I don’t think is on anymore. One of my friends I played basketball with watched this soap (can’t remember the name!) all the time and I would catch some episodes with her if I was over there after school. :)

I go in and out depending the storyline. I've mostly been a YR/GH fan. I used to watch guiding light back in the 90s. I did watch days here and there, but its never been that much my cup of tea.

Guiding Light I think is the one my friend watched, too! Yes, YR I watched a tiny bit. You could feel the quality in that one. I remember calling General Hospital with my sisters and cousins GH. LOL. Felt so cool calling it by that. We would literally be outside playing as very young teenagers during the summer and would come in at 3 PM exactly to watch GH.

yeah the heyday was definitely 80s90s cause primetime has taken on those tropes and done it better.

Makes sense. Obviously they have to be doing it right to be on for nearly 2 decades. That’s absolutely incredible. Yes it totally makes sense that Meredith is the anchor. Did you like her character with Patrick Dempsey’s? How is the show set up in general? Are you seeing a ton of medical cases every episode? Is it kind of balanced where you’re seeing the characters lives and the medical cases or one area more?

Yikes, I could only imagine.

MerDer, yes i shipped them though I got kind of bored of them after season 3.

The show was really well done in the beginning. Amazing music, and quites, very oth season 1 feels imo. Very important writng and messages in most episodes. It just had that special spark to it.

They did the medical cases extremely well and you find yourself getting attached to the patients unlike on ER where they barely show the patients. Its completely balanced.

Teh show is still good I just dont think is has that same special spark anymore. Only meredith, bailey and richard have been there since season 1, which is pretty crazy. There are other likable characters but its not quite the same as the early seasons.

Did you finish stranger things yet?

Got it.

Think you'll do it before Volume 2 arrives or wait until after it drops?
