I'm so glad I never got invested in ST.

jediwands 06-05-2022 07:30 AM

I love the show. I’m so glad I tuned in. Quality is incredible, and any show that can take me back to the 1980s in order to forget about what’s been going on in this country, I’m in. The only thing that can make me regret being fully invested is if they kill off a character that I truly love (to the point of being angry) or the series finale tanks.

ds44 06-05-2022 07:32 AM

I enjoyed the first season, but I'm just not a fan of the horror genre in general.

jediwands 06-05-2022 09:23 AM

Makes sense.

jediwands 06-05-2022 09:25 AM

My biggest ship on Stranger Things. I love how David admits to having a big time crush on Winona in the 80s and now their characters have a soulmate type of pairing on Stranger Things. His reaction to Winona saying she wasn’t attractive enough in the 80s is pure gold. :lmao:

100000000%. The (hopefully) last season next year will be saved if they add Sue as a main and/or regular. She breathes a life into the series no one else has been able to. If she disappears the writers will make a massive mistake. Ralph and Sue would both be regulars if not for the Ralph actor being a horrible person. Having said that, Sue is a strong character and so well liked and needs to be on the screen as much as possible before the series concludes. Especially if we aren't going to see Cisco, Joe, and Iris. Hell, I would take the adventures of Barry and Sue for the final season and love every minute of it.

Same here, really hope the writers decide to add her permanently next season.

They really need to!

You are smart. I really wish I would have done that with several past and even current shows, lol.
what helps is this: make a "finish later" list. lmao. I have a list of all the shows i quit and what season I am not, and that makes it easier for my OCD brain to accept. The idea that I will eventually come back to the shows. haha. And sometimes I do. It's way easier to take being able to skim through.

However, I did drop The Resident even though I liked it. I just hated seeing Emily leave and then the actress who played Mina. This was different however because I mainly started watching the show for Emily. As a rule, Hospital dramas aren’t really my thing. So it was easier to let go because I watched for a different reason and those actors left and I did as well.
I also stopped the Resident. Not because they left, though I did hate that, but because I just got bored with it. I also quit the Good Doctor and Big Sky.

I'm only now just catching up with Greys recent season. So much better when to you can binge. Week to week really drags series out.

I wouldnt mind if they killed off some characters... The characters that can die that I wouldnt care about:

Lucas
Mike
Murray
Eddie
Max

I do like Max but I wouldn't be that sad if she ended up dying. They probably shouldn't kill Lucas considering he's a POC. Eddie and Murray probably wouldnt be that impactful.

I def. see Jonathan/Mike/Max and Eddie in the running though.

Oh Stranger Things is phenomenal.

I also love love love horror stuff.

I also love Medical dramas. I am watching ER now.

For me, im not into like superhero type shows and stuff usually. Those tend to bore me. Or like CSI type shows cuz they all are very similar.

Oh btw you can update my currently watching shows:

The Staircase
Love victor
Gilmore Girls
Very Scary People
The Good Wife
Agents of Shield
So You Think You Can Dance
In the Dark
Legacies
Arrow
ER
Everwood
Kinnporsche and other BL series
Andy Warhol Diaries

I'm all over the place with genres. To be honest, my go to is soaps and I know people love to deride them, but every genre uses those tropes whether they want to admit it or not. I usually won't drop a show unless they screwed over a fav of mine. I don't mind superhero shows but it depends on the show. I tend to be drawn more to mystery shows and/or procedural mysteries. I don't mind if they throw in a supernatural element to it. But, I have to care about the characters for me to accept all the rest. When I don't, I tune out fast.

With Stranger Things, I just genuinely forgot about it. But, I will probably binge it once its all finished.

 This is such a Capricorn thing to do. I love lists too so I can see why this helps your brain not finish it with that LIST knowing most likely you will return to the "project" later. Very Capricorn. I love it of course.

When did you stop watching The Resident? Got it. I always wondered about Good Doctor and Big Sky.

I have never checked out Greys if you can believe it. Is the series still on? It is going to outlive all of us. :lmao:

Lucas is definitely in the main group that I wouldn't mind either. I like him, but sometimes he annoys me. Didn't like how he treated El in S1 and Max in S3, for example. He was that typical ignorant BF and while it might have been realistic, some of it bothered me like drinking all the water then taking his mouth and putting some back in, stuff like that. He can be annoying. Murray, yes, he is eccentric and has some great lines but I wouldn't mind either. I was actually hoping between Murray and Alexei for a death, it would be Murray. LOL. Eddie, I would not mind either. I really hope Jonathan, Steve or Nancy do not die! I like them. I might have the possible revisit of Steve/Nancy but hell no to either of them dying, and Jonathan better not either!

Right? There is something about this series. It is indescribable why it's so good... there's so many elements! It's not just a horror series either. The writing, acting, directing, production, every single episode is part of a big movie. It is an addicting, one of a kind series.

Quote:

I also love love love horror stuff.
 My one niece didn't think my sister would like it because typically she hates horror anything. She was addicted immediately. She even said it certainly has a massive horror element but there's so much more to it that makes it highly satisfying. My sister barely watches anything. It takes A LOT to get her to embrace a TV series. She loves Stranger Things.

First watch?

Yeah. I have to really like it in order for it to stick.

I used to faithfully watch Days of our Lives for decades. Soaps are addicting and fun to watch.

Yes, S5, final season, will appear soon enough. The speculation is the shortest wait for S5 out of any season. So you can find out if it was a satisfying ending and then like you are on me to watch Nancy Drew, I will be on you to for sure catch up on Stranger Things.
