Hi everyone!

Well my wife Teresa and I had one of the scariest weeks of our lives as Hurricane Harvey ravaged the area that I live in (we live north of Houston Texas) but fortunately for us, although we experienced the same unrelenting torrential rain that the Houston area received, our house and neighborhood didn't flood and we had no roof leaks or damage to our home and cars at all. Teresa has said to me several times that we were very lucky in this horrible storm, and I know that we were, and I thank God that we were spared from the flooding and devastation that so many other people in this area have suffered. My heart goes out to them and they're all in my thoughts and prayers, especially the friends and co-workers of mine that have lost so much. May God help and bless all of them and may God Bless all of you.

Thank God, Jerry! I know that Texas is Huge, but I never realized how large Houston is!

Hey...what do you think of what Christie said to the Texas GOP regarding sending aid?

Like we've discussed privately, so glad you and your wife are safe, Jerry. My heart goes out to all the people struggling in Houston.

Thanks Betty! Yes, the Houston area is huge, and so much of it was devastated by this hurricane.

For once, I think that Christie was right, and I liked how he called out Ted Cruz in particular for trying to deny Federal Aid to New Jersey when Hurricane Sandy hit, but who now is asking for Federal Aid for Texas. I still don't like him though and I never will. I can't stand Ted Cruz either, because like Christie, he's a self-serving opportunist.

I think it's possible considering how awful Trump is, even republicans are mortified and turning more liberal as a result.

I agree. I can't stand either one of them, but I really had to give credit to Christie here. He may not like certain "groups" of people in his state, but he really loves NJ and I like that he stuck up for us. He was absolutely right.

Yes he was, but I'll still always hate him for refusing to fund the Teacher's Pension Fund and screwing over people like you who worked hard all their lives and who deserve that pension.

He's definitely despicable for not liking "certain groups of people" since that's just... inhumane if you ask me.

It's funny but it's sad at the same time. Trump is such a horrible, horrible joke of a President who's only out for himself that he makes even the most inveterate right-wing conservatives in the Republican Party look moderate in comparison.

I actually mean certain groups like gays, people of color, teachers, seniors, low income families, women, etc.

My parents deal with death in really healthy way. I guess in this all three of us look alike. We have accepted death as part of life. So we accept that people that we love will die. Now the things are fairly normal for my mom. She does not talk too much about this, but with the time she accepted her mother's death as natural occurrence in life and tries to move on.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!! That totally sounds like deja vu/premonition. Incredible. What was the content?
In the dream there was discussion about something (never mentioned in the dream and at first I thought that it was the technical seminar) between my aunt and my grandmother that it should not happen before 21 May because this is my Name appreciation day. On the day of the funeral my aunt basically said that they had this conversation in the hospital. There were also other conversations between my mom and me that were in the dream. It was basic stuff on how we are and how we feel. I don't remember them now, but during the funeral everything was familiar to me. At that day I realized that I was basically prepared for that day because I have seen it before.

I remember you mentioning your Grandfather's dream and you know what I think about this... you two were together.
For sure . But I have not seen him in my dreams since then. I have always thought that it's because his soul rests in piece.

Exactly. It's overwhelming, especially with school starting around the time the high school season gets started too.
Yes and too many games might lead to health issues and injuries.

I find them a snooze but it must be done and over the years I've been basically passed down this accounting/numbers thing too which is interesting because I suck at math.
Are you expected to talk a lot during those meetings? Also how long they are usually and how many people participate?

School year starts this coming week (right after the holiday) for most people but some started today too before the holiday. So right now is the basic answer.
I see. Is it the same for every university or it depends?
