so i saw season 1 and 2 of alias when it aired, and then rewatched season 1 and half of two recently, and now i am finally back to waching episodes!

i just finished 213, holy cow, intense episode.

and these two finally kissed! they are so stinkin cute.

Rewatching this show is one of the best things to do... but if you haven't seen the rest back in time, you're gonna enjoy it IMMENSELY! I have to say S3, which is a plate full of angst, looks MUCH better upon rewatching. Heck, all of the show does. It is SO much better than most of the stuff that is on TV now. It really is. The acting especially is fabulous. They had great, great actors throughout. Starting from LE VARTAN and Garner. I am a huge Vartan fan, and I think he is sorely underrated right now. He and Garner were possibly one of the best TV couples ever (Well they were an ACTUAL couple too CRAZY Jennifer, I will NEVER understand her! ), but they were really great all around for their acting. And reading critics and analysis of episodes back then made me realize that even more. Re-watching is great for that.. it makes you see a LOT of details in the scenes and acting that were lost the first time around.

Can I put in a little complaint about the OP? I think it is SCANDALOUS that in the Syd/Vaughn moments, one of the MOST famous moments of the show isn't there... ARE WE ON COMS? Seriously! They discussed their rough sex life in front of Spy Daddy, ON COMS! What other couple does that?

The thing with them is that they're very ADULT, unlike many other TV couples. They're stinking hot.. but they also manage to be "cute". But they're always very adult. I hate how on current shows especially, they write adults as if they are teen-agers. Excuse me? And damn, that first kiss for me is the best TV kiss EVER And the sex scenes are STEAMY! Without being vulgar, ever, but seriously? Steamy! I guess real-life helped that... and the fact that MAN, Vartan can kiss. (damn you Jada Pinkett Smith, but that's for the Vartan thread).

The "fight with your wife" stuff is hilarious, especially upon rewatch. How Vaughn gets all "whuh? no? Wife? What? WIFE?! you said WIFE?! I HAVE NO WIFE let's make that clear, NO WIFE! WHy do you think I'm married!! Don't you get that I fancy youuuuu!"

S/V first kiss is by far the best first kiss on TV. The passion, the moment, the length and even the light are perfect!

And you're right. It's really rare to find a couple as good as SV nowadays :/

Sometimes the love story is a subplot, so it gets less detail and chemistry. Yes, Syd and Vaughn were a subplot to the whole CIA thing, but the attention to detail in the dialogue, in the chemistry, in everything was excellent!
