"Ice"

Sydney goes undercover as an earthy social worker and Vaughn as a lascivious, semi-tipsy priest to track down a deadly new bio-weapon. That episode sounds really good...especially Vaughn as a tipsy priest. The demons could also be good because we might be able to see some more depth to his character. Anyway, I can't wait. Only three more days...depending on the time.

I'm so happy that Alias is finally back on TV screen. Ice sounds really good so far... imagine Vaughn as lascivious, semi-tipsy priest ... hilarious

Jack&Nadia talkin about Irina sounds interesting too.

Can't wait for all new Alias

EDIT

It was an ok episode. I smell filler. But, I enjoyed it. I feel like the show slowed down alot this season. Then again we're only on episode 4 of 22.

Im intrigued about next week's, but ... I think it's going to hurt there relationship, not help it. Just a hunch.

Another winner! The ending was sad. I really expected her to inject the brother so I was surprised to see what happened. It was a nice end scene with Jack and Nadia too.

Next weeks episode reminds me of the X-Files episode when Mulder and Scully had to pretend to be married. Looks like it'll be a great one- I hope there's a lot of humor in it. I'm really looking forward to it.

First, off, I just have to say: Great episode!

I agree Allstar the opening scene freaked me out! I was like -- "what the ----?" The man breaks apart into tiny pieces and shatters like glass???

I was so excited to see Weiss a part of APO!

And the very opening scene was just hilarious! -- I cannot remember the exact words, but the dude was standing in the crowd saying "I've lost my bird" and Weiss comes up and corrects him, "Actually, it's 'My canary is missing' and tell it to the woman on the balcony" -- or something like that

I have to say that Jack is very insightful; he asked Vaughn if something was wrong regarding Vaughn's not sleeping well and thinking he's seeing Lauren all around.

I did crack up at Jack's response -- Vaughn: Does this happen to you? And Jack: Me seeing Lauren? Of course I am paraphrasing all these quotes as I cannot remember them exactly

And for some reason, though it is sad, I thought Vaughn's statement to Jack was just hilarious -- "I don't know many people who killed their wives"

I have said this before regarding the past episodes this season, but I love the lighthearted nature or tone of this season Yeah, there certainly are sad moments and dark themes, too, but it's not all dark, you know?

Okay -- some of the lighthearted moments I loved:
Dixon and Vaughn's exchange --
Vaughn: Gives you a chance to brush up on your old school ways
Dixon: Not old school, or whatever his response was --

Weiss mouthing to Marshall "You're married" over Nadia's shoulder -- teasing Marshall about Nadia not being wooed by the cute baby pics

Vaughn's comment to Dixon "You hit like a girl"

And as always, I loved Jack He was his usual cryptic self in this episode, espcially in response to Nadia's questioning of who the baby was in the pic. Of course, as usual, he does later respond to that.

I gotta say I loved the "lascivious, semi-tipsy priest"; he is just so cute and hot when he's flirting, even if it was with someone other than Sydney, such as Kira.

Does anyone know what song that was playing in the backgroun at the Tavern scene?

And I loved how Syd was supporting Vaughn, telling Dixon "He can do it; he can turn her." She has faith in him

I must say, for once, I did see Kira's death coming. Not, of course, till her brother put the gun to Vaughn's head, but when that scene started, I just knew she'd end up dead.

I was a bit confused as to why she told Vaughn she forgave him -- I didn't think he needed forgiveness for her death, as he wasn't responsible for it. Was she saying she forgave him for killing Lauren? No matter, that was a very touching and sad scene

Another touching/sad scene was the plane flight home with Sydney and Vaughn -- my GA ness did love her telling him "Whem we get back maybe you should spend the night." What was a bit sad, though, was that he was already asleep and she seemed alone.

However, overall the episode was very upbeat!

And next week Squeeeeeeee! This is not the type of episode we typically have, unless they are misleading us with the previews! This upcoming episode with Sydney and Vaughn posing as a married couple, for some reason, reminded me of the old Scarecrow and Mrs. King. Does anyone remember that show?

And How cute was Marshall talking about Mitchell and the pics -- the pics

I was still in mode after seeing Claire show up at the end of Lost and I was like... when that guy lost his leg and then shattered into many pieces. I was so not expecting that! when they were making all these puns about the poor idiot who swallowed the thing. Weiss said something about the mission being a "bust".

I'm interested in that photo of Irina. I was wondering if maybe it was really Irina's niece or if Sydney has an older half-sister/brother somewhere. I can't imagine Katya having kids, so it'd have to be her other sister who we have yet to meet.

I thought this episode was ok, but I'm looking forward to next week's. It doesn't look like it's going to be your regular Alias eppy. Will be fun to see Sydney and Vaughn act like a married couple in suburbania.

Great episode did anyone get the Vaughn connection? He was in alias as a preacher, in a roundabout way he 'confessed' his greatest sin to Kira in trying to get her to trust him. This sin was bothering him greatly to the point he thought he was seeing Lauren, he was not sleeoing because of it, all of his co-workers noticed how terrible he looked.
As Kira was dying she pulled a role reversal on Vaughn she simply said 'I forgive you.' She knew that story he had told her was truth, she was forgiving him because as she had said in the pub something about 'Our God can forgive us but we can not always forgive ourselves' or something like that.
She in fact helped Vaughn find some inner peace..allowing him to finally sleep..on the plane, unfortunately just after Sydney asked him to spend the night.

I'm so damn glad this show is back I really enjoyed this episode, I thought it was a vast improvement over last week's, and of course, more along the lines of what I feel this show can be... fun, spy stuff, with a few dark moments here and there...

Things I loved:

- the entire 5 first minutes of the show. Weiss giving that guy directions on how to contact Sydney... the virus or whatever that Ice 5 thing was, and the way the guy just shattered into pieces... and then everyone taking cracks at what happened back at the APO office.
- Weiss mouthing to Marshall "you're married" over Nadia.
- All of the Vaugh/Dixon quips.
- Vaugh was actually cute as the lascivious, drunk priest. I liked his roundabout confession about killing Lauren and his guilt confession through Kira... I also liked Kira forgiving him for killing Lauren in the end... lovely touch.
- Jack's little dry remark about seeing Lauren...

What I also really enjoyed was the sort of distance I felt being established between Syd and Vaugh... he doesn't tell her what's been keeping him up... then he falls asleep on her while she's trying to be understanding and sympathetic... and Sydney looking so terribly alone at the end... she actually took her hand away from him... Sad, I know... but much needed. I hate how everything gets pushed back with these two, and they always just try to pick up where they left off and be all happy and peachy again... bleh, as if nothing ever happened. I like seeing them struggle with things, and I like seeing Syd feel alienated, because frankly, I think she is alone... and the sooner she realizes that, the sooner her character becomes a little darker, and a little edgier... And then we can just bring Sark into the picture, ... well, even if we don't, at least it'll give her another dimension.

Okay, things I didn't like:

- Nadia... at all. I just don't like her, or her stupid fixation with her mother... come on! Where is all this emotion coming from, for a mother that abandoned you, nonetheless... I don't buy it... and she's just trying too hard, and her forehead is too big, and she just annoys me...
- Okay, this is just an annoyance... not that I don't love Weiss, cause I do... but what the hell kind of secretive, black ops team is this if they keep recruiting every damn person that ever finds out about them?! I mean, I understand, they wanted to include Eric and all, but I'm just not seeing where he (or Vaugh for that matter) got enough field experience to be in black ops... ugh.

I think that's all I really have to pick on... I wonder if they'll bring Sark into the team later on in the season? what's the chance of him becoming an agent? I mean, his loyalties are flexible... he he he.

Okay, next week looks interesting. A bit too stepford wifey, but still interesting. I want to see what goes down b/t Syd and Vaugh, b/c I get the feeling it won't be too great, and if anything, it might just drive them a little bit even further apart... one can only hope

I liked this episode. However, I was rather thrown off by Ice 5. Because it was clearly a rip off of Vonnegut's Ice 9 from Cat's Cradle, and it wasn't used nearly as effectivly.

stranger451 I think you and I think alike Your comments are all dittos of mine Great minds think alike, eh? Of course, it is only the first half of your comments that I agree with Not the stuff concerning Syd/ Vaughn Actually, I think the distance between the two is realistic, but I don't think it's that much of a distance.

ALLSTAR I so hope next week's episode does not hurt Syd/Vaughns relationship. Don't bring me down

Kelly_mvpics Yes, I too liked the last scene with Jack and Nadia; "I choose to believe"

JNorky74 Yeah, I too, questioned whether that baby was some other third child of Irina's -- can't remember which thread I had posted that on, but I do agree with you on those suspicions. And, yep! -- Next week doesn't look like a typical Alias, but I am looking forward to that change.

IfITellUIllHav2KillU Very insightful. I think you helped clarifly my question about what Kira was forgiving Vaughn for.

Agnes Bean Hmmm.... need to check out that book.

Of course great minds think alike! Pffft... what else? And I'll forgive you for your Vaughn-ness... Sorry, I'm just a Sarkney at heart... actually, I'm more of a Sark than anything else... but anyway, about the distance b/t Syd and Vaugh... I actually agree. I don't per se think it'll split them up (although that'd happen if I got my way)... but I do think the distance between them is a good thing. Like I said, I feel like they don't deal with things sometimes, and at least, now I'm seeing them react There... feel better
