It doesn't surprise me. Dawson was a whiny, abusive, selfish, manipulative, immature ahole (and his peak with all of that was in S3). So the hate is very deserved lol.

I will never feel sorry for Dawson. Remembering what a manipulative and selfish prick he was in S3 makes that even easier as well.
