Here they operate on a man they suspect is a drug dealer.

Botched butt implants, dicey face-lifts and operating-room tantrums --
RYAN MURPHY's brand-new TV series, "Nip/Tuck," serves up all those
and more this summer, and ET has the exclusive preview of the cutting-
edge series on tonight's show!

"Nip/Tuck" doesn't air on FX until late July, but people are already
talking about the eyebrow-raising (literally!) new drama.

Starring DYLAN WALSH ("Everwood"), JULIAN McMAHON ("Charmed"), JOHN
HENSLEY ("Witchblade"), VALERIE CRUZ ("The Agency") and JOELY
RICHARDSON, the story centers on gorgeous doc Christian Troy
(McMahon), a hotshot plastic surgeon, and his partner Sean McNamara
(Walsh) at their fictional practice in Miami.

The two docs don't always get along -- and have some of their best
brawls in the operating room. From butt implants gone bad to other
painful procedures -- "Nip/Tuck" aims to explore the "dark side" of
plastic surgery.

And although the subject matter is serious, the mood on the set is
playful. ET visited the guys hard at work, where Walsh told us they
have a blast: " It's not a conservative show that's trying to
document things -- not at all! It's crazy! Within five minutes of the
show you know you are on a ride."

Nip/Tuck Pilot Episode 1.01 - ACT TWO INTERIOR SEAN'S OFFICE Sean has a morning consult and it's Matt. Matt tells his dad that he's grateful that Sean is treating him like an adult, but to skip the psychobabble. Matt tells Sean that he wants a circumcision. Matt's attitude doesn't hide his displeasure that his father didn't have him circumcised when he was a baby. Sean explains to Matt that he was six weeks premature and Sean and Claire decided that their baby didn't need the extra stress of an operation. Matt tells his dad that he would have survived. Sean then pauses and asks Matt why he went to Christian first with his questions about a circumcision. Matt tells his dad that Christian is cooler than Sean. This strikes a blow to Sean's heart. Matt goes on to explain that Christian listens to him. That Christian treats Matt like a man. There's a pause, then Sean explains to Matt that he wants Matt to watch a tape that will give all the medical facts on circumcisions. Matt hides his apprehension, but tells his father to start the tape. Sean puts in the tape, and sneaks a peak at Matt's face while the voice on the tape: VOICE ON TAPE: A circumcision on an adult male penis begins with local anesthesia. Three deadening shots are administered directly into the shaft and glands of the organ. INTERIOR WAITING ROOM Claire is flipping through a magazine. She just had a haircut. Mrs. Hedda Grubman is a Palm Beach socialite who explains to Claire that she is having her eyes done because her daughter is getting married next month. Mrs. Grubman then asks Claire while looking at her chest if she was having her breast enlarged? But before Claire can respond, Christian suddenly appears for Mrs. Grubman's 3 o'clock appointment. Christian notices Claire. Christian leans down and kisses Claire on the cheek and asks Claire why she's in the waiting room? Claire explains that Matt is having a professional consultation with his father about having a circumcision. Claire thanks Christian for his earlier talk with Matt. Christian explains that everyone needs someone in his or her life who will listen. Christian can tell from the look on Claire's face that she doesn't have that person in her life anymore. Christian suddenly smiles and tells Claire that she looks amazing with her new hairstyle. Christian asks Claire why the change? Claire tells him that she wanted something new. Christian tells her that she wore her hair in that same style back when they went to school together. He continues by saying that he thought she looked hot back then too. Christian then asks Claire what Sean had to say about the haircut? Claire says that Sean hasn't said a word one way or the other. Christian and Claire's chemistry is apparent as they lock eyes. Christian finds it darkly exciting and Claire is terrified of it. Mrs. Grubman interrupts and is upset that Christian has kept her waiting fifteen minutes. Christian tells Claire to invite him over to the house soon. That he misses his family. Christian then smiles seductively at Mrs. Grubman and tells her that all his attention is now focused on his favorite patient. As Christian escorts Mrs. Grubman to his office, he turns and winks at Claire. INTERIOR SEAN'S OFFICE Matt is still watching the tape. He's affected greatly from what he has observed. Sean is silently hoping that this penis version of "Scared Straight" will get his son's attention. VOICE ON TAPE: .after the skin is parried in a sideways motion, the application of one-millimeter stitches begins. Matt quickly tells his father to turn off the tape. Sean then asks Matt if he still wants the circumcision? Matt tells his father that the operation can't be any worse then when he broke his leg. He then queries his father about pain medications. Sean then tells Matt that he will make an appointment for Matt with a psychologist. That he was sorry that he doesn't have one on staff. Matt goes ballistic and wants to know why his father is making him see a head shrink? Sean believes that Matt is bowing to peer pressure. That something is going on. Matt tells his dad that he simply doesn't want the guys to talk trash about him and that he knows that women don't like the extra skin. Sean asks Matt if he is having sex? Matt tells his dad that he's seeing Vanessa. That she is beautiful varsity cheerleader. Again Sean asks Matt if he's had sex? Matt tells him that he is working on it but if Vanessa sees his un-circumcised penis that she will hurl. Sean tries to comfort Matt by telling him that if Vanessa genuinely cares about him, she won't care about something as trivial as extra skin. Matt vehemently tells his dad that for once to give him something that he needs. Sean then tells Matt that he has something to show him. Sean tells Claire that he and Matt are going on a field trip and that they will meet her at home. INTERIOR OF ANOTHER SECTION OF THE HOSPITAL Christian and Alejandro are striding down the hallway. Christian asks Alejandro how his brother is doing? Alejandro tells him that Silvio is upset because the hospital only has vanilla ice cream. Christian tells him that when his and Sean's recovery spa center is done that their patients will be served fresh fruit smoothies. As they enter Silvio's room they see that his bed is empty. Christian then asks Alejandro where Silvio is? Alejandro says that Silvio was here just a minute ago. Christian tells Alejandro that if he wants him to do a follow-up on Silvio he better find him in half an hour. Silvio whereabouts suddenly occurs to Alejandro. INTERIOR PEDIATRIC WING Christian follows a panicked Alejandro as he speed walks past the patient rooms. Alejandro checks each one. As Alejandro walks Christian asks him why Silvio whould be on this floor? But before Alejandro can answer, he hears Silvio's distinctive deep laugh from down the hall. Silvio is sitting on the bed of a beautiful 8-year old Latina girl, who is eating something Silvio is spooning into her mouth. His white mask gives him a chilling appearance. Only his black eyes are visible. Silvio is talking in Spanish to the little girl. Alejandro screams Silvio's name. Silvio explains that he was just giving the little girl his ice cream so it didn't go to waste. Silvio exits, but not before staring down his brother. Alejandro and Christian follow Silvio out into the hallway as he shuffles toward the elevator. Christian asks Alejandro what his problem is? That it's good for Silvio to get out and get some exercise. Alejandro tells Christian that he doesn't think his brother will ever heal. A confused Christian sees Silvio in the elevator waving at the little girl. Suddenly an alarmed Christian tells Alejandro that during their consultation Silvio mentioned being with the boss' girl. He then asks Alejandro how old was the girl? Alejandro ashamedly answers that she was six. Christian suddenly feels guilty as he watches Silvio continuing to wave to the little girl. INTERIOR OF SEAN'S CAR Sean tells Matt that he is sorry. Matt asks his father was it because he wouldn't let him have the circumcision? Sean tells him no. That it's because he's been a ****ty father. Sean notices a strip mall with a sign MEDICAL OFFICES FOR RENT. INTERIOR SEAN'S OFFICE LATER THAT DAY Sean is staring out the window when Liz enters. She explains that Kimber is in the recovery room crying hysterically. The extent of her crying has split stitches to her breast. Kimber tells Sean that she wants her surgeon to do the re-suturing. She asks him where is Christian? Sean explains that Christian is out in the field with another patient and tries to find out why Kimber is so upset. She tells Sean that she doesn't understand why she hasn't heard from Christian since her operation. That she thought that they would be together. Sean tries to explains to her that she may have confused Christian's thorough bedside manner with real emotions. Liz then interjects that if it would make Kimber feel any better that she's not the first girl he's done this to. But at least she's got some good **** out of it and to go on with her life. Sean and Kimber are shocked by Liz's straight forwardness. However, Kimber is adamant that Liz is wrong. That Christian told her that he had feelings for her and wanted to see her again. LIZ: He's had six **** and fixes this month. That's all you are to him okay? A **** and a fix. You deserve to know. KIMBER: He calls me what? SEAN: Liz, you're out of line. LIZ: No Sean, you are out of line. You co-own this business, this reflects on you and your character. Wake up! EXTERIOR HIGHWAY AT DUSK White lines roar by as a Berlitz Tape begins to play. The Berlitz instructor in Spanish says that speaking Spanish can be fun and instructs the listener to repeat. Sean is focused in an almost manic intensity inside his car. His cell phone rings. Christian is pissed and is looking at Sean's empty desk. He then proceeds to tell Sean that the construction workers have ripped them off. Sean tells Christian that they weren't ripped off, that he is quitting. He's going to start over before it's too late. Christian asks Sean if he is home. That he's coming over to talk. Sean tells him that no. That it's his turn to talk and to listen up. Sean's emotions are at a fever pitch as he sarcastically tells Christian that his using his **** as a lure to get emotionally damaged young women into their office was a brilliant sales ploy. Sean also thanks him for being so ruthlessly ambitious that he would gladly accept drug money, which by the way could lead the feds to their doorstep. However, Sean doesn't want his medical license revoked and spend his 40's in a federal pen. Christian asks Sean if he had anymore to say? Sean tells him that he's just getting started. He continues by telling Christian that he wanted to also thank him for becoming so repugnant that he is finally taking charge of his life. Christian asks Sean what he was planning to do? Sean tells him that for ten years that he has been consumed with transforming other people. That today he's starting on himself. Sean then hangs up the phone and races towards the strip mall. As he parks a realtor is waiting with the keys to the medical offices that are for rent. END OF ACT TWO

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - FX's new boundary-smashing drama "Nip/Tuck" augmented the network's regular Tuesday night ratings, drawing a 3.2 household rating and over 3.7 million viewers in its July 22 debut. The plastic surgery program was the night's most watched cable program and is the top new series cable premiere of 2003. Overall, the "Nip/Tuck" opening incision ranks as the fifth most watched basic cable premiere in history. USA's "The Dead Zone" attracted 6.4 million deadheads when it first bowed, followed by another FX original, "The Shield," with had 4.8 million viewers when it first walked the beat. The first runs of USA's "Monk" and E!'s "The Anna Nicole Show" were the only other shows to do better than the Dylan Walsh/Julian McMahon starrer. "Clearly there is a tremendous amount of buzz about Nip/Tuck and we're excited about the ratings, the show's distinctive quality and its profile for network's brand," says Peter Liguori, the FX Networks president and CEO. "To now have two of the top five most watched series premieres ever on basic cable with 'Nip/Tuck' and 'The Shield' says a lot about the strides FX has made over the last two years." In addition to topping the night in total viewers and household ratings, "Nip/Tuck" had a 2.1 rating among adults 18-49. The pilot reaired later on Tuesday night and added 1.2 million viewers to its total. "Nip/Tuck" is FX's second original drama, following the Golden Globe and Emmy-winning "The Shield."

John Hensley really does look younger. His character is supposed to be, what, 16? He did well playing a teenager. I have to admit, when I saw the previews for his self-circumcision my first thought was "Oh, Gabe, what are you thinking?!" lol


I'm glad that the first ep. got good ratings. I'm really hoping that they don't have a noticeable dip next week since the next episode won't be as hyped as the pilot was. I'm hoping it will continue to do well because I think this show has tons of potential, really great acting, and one the most truly entertaining shows I've seen in quite awhile. Plus it has Julian and John... [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]
