The sun is out, the sky is blue and I'm going into work for a few hours!!! Need to lessen the blow of Monday by popping in today to see what state my classroom is in.

Can't believe it's September 1st already! Our car is 1 today!! It's been a turbulent year with it but it's very beautiful & we love it.

No, thank God. There was a road that collapsed (due to the heavy rains from Irene) and two cars were swept out into a river. All the people save for one made it back, but they were still looking for the driver of one of the cars last I heard. Vermont was battered, though. Yikes.

Yes, the 6 weeks holidays have 1 downside and thats readjusting to work after such a long time off work!

I saw on the news that a college student had to walk to school through the woods because she couldn't drive to it or get there any other way.

what school holidays are you given?

I wish we could live in NY for the summer and Australia for the winter so we'll never really experience winter.

I get 13 weeks holiday a year, usually 6 weeks at summer, 2 weeks at Easter and Christmas and then a week in May, February and October. Our half terms are 6-7 weeks long.

Have just got home from watching One Day. Beautiful film that stayed very true to the book, me and my sister sat there sobbing and walked out with huge crushes on Jim Sturgess.

Lost in Translation

Yuck. There's a teacher at the daycare whose son had to return to school on August 25th. The public schools mostly returned on Monday the 29th (the French school boards) and Wednesday the 31st (the English ones) but his school is a private school so different schedule. Yuck.
