Big Fish #6: Ed's stories charmed many people.

Summary:
The story revolves around a dying father and his son, who is trying to learn more about his dad by piecing tgether the stories he has gathered over the years. The son winds up re-creating his father's elusive life in a series of legends and myths inspired by the few facts he knows. Through these tales, the son begins to understand his father's great feats and his great failings.

Ewan plays young Edward Bloom, the father character in the tall-tale retellings of his young days.

It's based on the novel Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions which I would highly recommend. By all accounts I've heard, this film is going to be incredible. It's being directed by Tim Burton and co-stars Albert Finney (old Edward), Billy Crudup (William Bloom), Steve Buscemi, Danny DeVito, and others. Amazing cast, amazing story, and from what I've heard, and amazing screenplay.

Once the prison guards heard about his love for Sandra, they were brought to tears and wanted him to get back home to his family.

That sounds so like him!
^ So true.

That inspired the new thread title.

Thanks for the new thread. Great choice of title.

I've always been a fan of Burton's visual style in films. While BF feels the least Burtonesque, it also has a little of his trademark look.

ITA. People still get surprised when they find out that it's a Burton film. I think they have to get past the non-darkness of BF before they realize that it really is his work. hehe

Thanks for the new thread Love the title...he charmed us all!

BF is my favorite Tim film because it's one of those movies with lots of heart and life...it just makes you smile in every way. I think's it's his most lovable work along with Edward Scissorhands. Funny how both main characters's names are the same, huh?

Oh and I can't wait for Alice in Wonderland! The trailer already looks stunning.

And Ed Wood is his other best. Seriously, those are my three favorite Burton films. The Eds rock.

You're welcome all and glad you like the title.

Tim need to have a son named Edward I never noticed the 3 Edwards in his films before.
Never saw Ed Wood though.

I agree and I also love that it is lighter and has heart and life, like Caris said.

Being that Ewan wants to work with Johnny Depp, Burton should cast them both in the same film.

I think that would be waaay too normal for Tim and Helena. Don't they already have a child with an odd name?

Brilliant idea. Now how do we get Tim on board?

I really feel like sending Tim my cast list.
Like I want Emilie de Ravin to be Angelique and Natalie Dormer to be Victoria Winters. But who would Ewan play? He's too short to be Quentin. I don't want him to be Willie Loomis - because Willie was an idiot. Maybe they can change the role of Julia Hoffman to Julio?

Fan letters!

No! You need Julia Hoffman. No sex change.

I think they do. I am too lazy to look it up.
You know, if you start saying the name Edward over and over out loud - it really is an odd sounding name
