I didn't know there was a ghost writer then.

I believe a lot of books aimed at a younger audience that has a long series had ghost writers towards the end.

That makes me sad.
Like it doesn't feel authentic.
And the poor ghost writer gets no recognition.

I could be wrong but I think Sweet Valley High had ghost writers too.

I feel like that would be a hard job. You have to match the original author's writing style.

Totally.

I wonder what the process is like to find one. Maybe they start with a ghost writer that already has a similar writing style.

I was obsessed with the Animorphs books too. I think they had ghostwriters later in the series. And the Boxcar Children books.

I never noticed any difference in the books but then again that could be because I was young. Although I think I only read like 3 or 4 Boxcar Children books. The first 2 maybe the third one. And then one later in the series. I remember thinking the one later in the series felt differently.

They did, but with the author's guidance. I think they do this in series such as these because the books came out quite frequently, so it was easier to have someone to help write them. But not sure about this series.. did Ann stop writing them full stop after #35?
