He smiled back at her and placed his hand on her bare knee. The innocence that she still possessed made this moment so wonderful for him. Maybe it was the rain pounding on the roof or maybe it was the song that was playing, but there was just this passion deep down inside of him that he’d never felt for anyone else in his life.

“Jane,” Michael began. “I don’t want to pressure you into doing anything, and especially if you don’t want to, but I have never been more attracted to you in my life than I am at this moment.”

She looked at her husband with a sort of longing in her eyes. Of course they had been intimate before, but that was so long ago and for such a brief moment that she almost couldn’t remember any of it. She took a deep breath, knowing that she should be comfortable enough with herself to let him touch her but she just wasn’t.

“M-Michael,” she stumbled, “I-I don’t know…”

I like keeping you all in suspense.

He looked at her, not really knowing what to say. It was like she was willing but she was still so afraid. It wasn’t like there was anything to be afraid because he was her husband, and he wouldn’t hurt her to save his life. Sighing, he reclined his seat back and closed his eyes.
