I'm just wondering how Jughead and Veronica will ever trust Betty and Archie are over each other. This scenario was something Jughead always had a fear of. So not sure how he's suddenly going to get over this. I was hoping Betty/Archie only happened but ended during the missing years we'd only see in brief flashbacks. Hate that we'll see it in real time.

Very true. He won't hold it against her. But maybe he will think to himself he always knew there was something between them romantically and now it's happening as adults after high school and years later when they were able to make less immature decisions. So inside his mind, he might question as he's getting closer to Betty again (hopefully!) if he's going to be second place since it didn't work out with Archie which is what she always wanted (again, in his mind).

I just hate that TPTB are doing this. It was totally unnecessary. If you were going with Betty/Archie it should have happened in high school and done or during the lost years. I guess maybe it will play out better... maybe we'll see them miserable together and it's obvious to everyone that they are not working or right for each other. Or maybe it will come out that THEY settled because they lost Jughead and Veronica.

jj think that will play into the angst but that it will be about highlighting that they haven’t been their true selves since they lost j/v. Atleast that seems to be the implication especially with both spending so much time with their exes.

I liked the early part of the series and then it went downhill fast for me (but I did always like Seth/Summer). Just like Dawson's Creek. The quality of Dawson's Creek changes so drastically post-Season 2 it's a joke. Same with The OC but at least The OC at its worst is still way higher in quality than Dawson's Creek. The OC was forced to go there due to the death of a main character whereas Dawson's Creek had to cater to a below average actress (Katie) and put someone like Michelle Williams who has more talent in her little finger than Katie, in a closet so she didn't outshine Katie. Gross. Not to mention the misogynistic, backstabbing and even homophobic crap throughout all of Dawson's Creek. At least The OC didn't have this going on. I'd take The OC by a mile.
