- Too much fanservice/homages. Don't get me wrong, Rogue One is my favorite SW film, and I love some nice fanservice bits myself, but moderation is key. It was like nearly every scene was going "hey remember this person? remember when this happened?" to the point where it wasn't even fun.

- There were some cool concepts (Exegol, the Sith loyalists, the dagger/wayfinders, the Jedi of past helping Rey) but it all felt soooo rushed. Either the movie should have been longer or they should have cut some of the extra characters/places (even though I liked the new characters they introduced). It just felt like it was hard to enjoy everything because as soon as it happened, we were already off to someplace else doing something else. There was no time to breathe or flesh anything out.

- Whyyyy couldn't we have seen more of Rey with her yellow lightsaber?? It looked so cool! I'm fine with her taking on the Skywalker name, though it was really hamfisted in execution. I can get behind the idea of Rey "honoring" the legacy of the Skywalkers by taking their name. I think Rey would do that regardless, even if any of the blood relation Skywalkers were still alive, because she really admired Luke and Leia.

- Really felt like every character suffered because they just barely got a chance to do anything. There was SO MUCH going on that there wasn't time for anything to happen.

- The kiss ... I understand people like the pairing, but it is not for me. And then Kylo Ren just dies immediately afterward ... it felt really weird. Felt like they were trying to appeal to both the shippers and non-shippers and it didn't work at all. Would have rather they skipped the kiss and stuck to romantic subtext like Jyn/Cassian in RO. Just IMO though.

Basically the film felt very meh to me. It's not the worst film of all time (and in some ways I found it better than some parts of TPM or AOTC), but I didn't really get much enjoyment out of it. Everything just sort of happened and then it was over. Meh. I didn't love TLJ (though I liked TFA), though I think TLJ is a much better film than TROS in terms of execution and having a vision of what it wanted to be.

It also made things predictable too. Like Lando's first appearance in the film, I wonder who this masked man is?

I agree with this too. It was a way to wrap up the story and give everyone - 'shippers - what they want.

- Reylo is actually canon, omg! This to me was the most satisfying thing about this movie. I understand that not everyone likes them as a couple, but to me this didn't feel like they were trying to please the shippers. There was a lot of build up to this on the last two movies, especially with all the Force connections scenes we got from TLJ, so it just made sense. I honestly would have been really angry if JJ had just ignored it. like what he did with Finn/Rose yikes

- I really loved the Rey/Finn/Poe friendship dynamic, and I liked Poe's storyline, but Finn's felt a bit meh. :/ I don't know if this is true, but I read that John Boyega wasn't happen with Finn's storyline in this movie either and I don't blame him, cause I feel like his character didn't develop much? He spent most of the movie just yelling after Rey and trying to go help her, and I kinda found that very boring and also a little annoying, and basically just a copy of TFA. :') He's more than just Rey's personal bodyguard, I just didn't like how much of it there was. I wish they had explored his connection with the Force more instead.

- I feel a little bad for saying this because I actually love Rey as a character, but I'm not a huge fan of how JJ wrote her this movie. A lot of people call her a Mary-Sue and in this movie she kinda was. I like her, but I think it's just unrealistic how she's the best pilot, the best Jedi, the best Sith killer, the best Force healer, etc, etc, omg does she really have to be perfect at everything?! I also feel a bit conflicted with the Rey Skywalker thing, part of me thinks it was a nice touch, but on the other hand, why can't she just be Rey?

- IMO Kylo Ren/Ben Solo is hands down the best character of this trilogy. And a huge reason of why he's so amazing is due to Adam Driver's acting, he's so so talented, I seriously adore him. I love how he can play a villain so well and then add small glimpses of vulnerability to his character. And then as Ben Solo, even though he barely had any lines lines (which, wtf JJ?), you could see how much more lighter and playful he was, a lot like Han, actually. Wish we had seen more of that.

- So even though I was over the moon with Rey and Ben, I'm disappointed at how much JJ ignored Ben as a Skywalker. I would have loved to see Ben and Rey fighting Palpatine together, showing that both light and darkness can meet and create something good, IDK. It would have been cheesy maybe, but it would have made more sense than Rey doing it alone.
It also annoys me that we have so much info on Ben's past from the comic books but barely from the movies, like couldn't they put a little more of that on the movies too?

- I was so happy to see Han, I didn't expect him to be on this movie so that was a great surprise. But it was a bit disappointing that we got so little of Leia and Luke. Obviously I knew we wouldn't be able to see much of Leia. But yeah, these characters deserved to appear more, I think TLJ was much more satisfying on that front because we got to see a lot of Luke.

- And I can't believe JJ killed Ben, after everything that he went through... FFS. He ends the entire Skywalker/Solo generation, and then expects people to just be happy with the Rey Skywalker thing... Lol. This was just a terrible decision IMO, I think the movie really took a turn for the worse on those last 15 minutes.

These thoughts all sound really negative, but still, I actually managed to enjoy this movie. It sure had some ups and downs, it's just not my favorite from this trilogy, and overall I think Rian did a much better job at understanding these characters (I really loved TLJ). This movie just made me feel like there was something missing, so I wish it had been a little longer too (3 hours long like Endgame would have been nice lol).

I wasn't too upset about Ben dying, as much as I didn't want him to. It felt it was like full circle after how Anakin gave his life for Luke.

I love Rey, I've always thought she gets too much hate ... but during this movie, all I could think was 'ugh this is just gonna prove to the haters that Rey is a Mary Sue.' It annoyed me so much. I am FINE with Rey being powerful, even with little training -- Anakin was like that, after all, and even Luke to a degree. But they just went so overboard with it. I'm not happy. I feel like poor Rey suffered so much in terms of characterization across the three films, and it sticks out soooo much because she is literally the main character.

I loved that we finally got the trio scenes and I really enjoyed watching them on misisons together but then the movie got weird. Everything felt rushed, they sidelined so many characters, especially Rose, she deserved much better. And Kylo Ren got redeemd in like 5 minutes. Am I supposed to forget all the atrocities he was responsible for? At least they redeemed him through his parents but it wasn't well written.

I didn't mind that Rey was the one to destroy Palpatine. She had the power of all the Jedi on her side. And I think there was a one year time jump after TLJ, so she trained for a whole year under the guidance of Leia. And I didn't view her as perfect in this movie, she was often reckless which affected her focus and abilities.

Giving Rey a last name felt forced, I don't mind that she chose the name Skywalker, it fit earlier scenes in the movie and she honoured her new found family. But Rey being a nobody, the message that anybody can become a Jedi got lost. You could really feel that JJ ignored most of what happened in TLJ.

The Reylo kiss seemed unnecessary to me and then he immidediately died.

JJ explained that Finn wanted to tell Rey that he was force sensitive, when they were sinking in the sand. I wish they would have explored him being force sensitive more.

And I'm still really disappointed at how they treated Rose in this one. They did her dirty. By giving her barely any scenes they kind of validated all of Kelly's haters who chased her off social media.
