Emerging Technologies Making Sex-Less Reproduction A Growing Trend

“I think most of our babies in 20 to 40 years are going to be conceived in a clinic,” declared bioethicist Hank Greely.

Greely is a professor of law and genetics at Stanford University and author of “The End of Sex and the Future of Human Reproduction.”

He believes having actual sex in order to reproduce will become obsolete, even for fertile couples. Simply put, Greely said, babies will be created in vitro.

“Not in the bedroom, not in the back seat of a car, not under the “keep off the grass sign,” he mused.

I don't know about all that. I feel like it can have negative implications but I'm too tired to think through what they can be.

It would be like Gattaca.

Us "God-children" would be discriminated on in favor of those that have been genetically modified prior to birth.

If I could have children that won't be prone to things that affect my family like migraines, psoriasis, diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, Parkinson's, any cancer, poor vision, etc., I'd do it. I'd add height in there, too, because poor things, especially the males, if they're as short as me.

Oh, and nose. I have my mother's nose shape, but my father's tip. His nose can die with him. No one needs that thing.

I'd just pass on my mother's nose that is in my genes.

I'd be more likely to want to get rid of diseases rather than alerting physical traits like noses or hair color.
