While doing the board guide stuff I noticed a lot of slash stuffs. So apparently people did like it

I really just like their friendship. They had nice scenes together.

There is a slash thread I noticed, although I haven't checked it out yet. I guess it was a bit more general.

As for people liking them romantically, there's loads of that all over the fandom.

Which I find odd, as I've never seen the appeal of any of these ships...

And I'm pretty sure that Tolkien didn't have anything slash-related in mind when creating all these characters...

... but it's a big fandom

I'm not actually into any slash pairings in this particular universe either.
I mean... I might in other stuff. But I just didn't feel that in the LOTRverse. I just really liked the BROTP things we had gotten.

Jac, I prefer the brotherly bond they had, and in this fandom I was never a slash-pairing supporter... even if quite a few friendships can be made into slash ones...

Though by the end of the books, I felt that Legolas had the closest bond with Gimli, and Aragorn became his 2nd closest friend...

I think they both were, or become by the end of the books.

... but I also thought that Aragorn was best friends with Elrond's sons & with Halbarad, one of the Dunadain... and characters who are just not included in the movies
