I want to read the series. I can imagine the show to be different on some parts as if they plan to be on air longer, they might need to veer past just 13 books. One book isn't very thick. And big font!

Miracle! My local library is temporarily reopened, I was able to go grab book one! They had 12 of 13 on site, gonna see if the missing one is just out or if they don't hold it...

Yeah I'll probably see about getting through the other ones, too, while my library is open again... although they don't have 12... they have all of them, but not 12

So apparently I should be reading the first four books, because each book will be covered in the span of two episodes and there are eight in the first series
