Well even with their first meeting you can see it. lol
But I think it's clear to see the build up to them before they got together which I actually loved. I loved that we got to see Michonne slowly start opening up herself to Carl and Rick. I think the episode that really sealed it was when we saw Michonne's past lives and she kept following the trails on the ground until she found Carl and Rick. And she saw them through the window and cried!

That was one of the biggest moments for their development.
