Just read the new interview.
 I'm so disgusted and shocked. I can't believe that they tried to justify Chuck's abusive, possesive and violent behaviour and still trying to sell this messed up character as a romantic lead. And Jennifer's questions? WOW. I shouldnt be so surprised bcoz i remember her nonsensical comments from my Lost days but she got over herself and called B's wound as the most beautiful scar ever. And Chuck is like Rhett? Wow No more GG for me anymore. I'll try to catch up with the Dair scenes on YT. If there will ever be any DB scenes of course. I am going to tell you all from experience that it's better not to get invested in these shows. I like Dair, but I am not going to get to the point when I am so upset because the show won't write for them or put them together. I was really bitter about the last couple I shipped and I got too invested. I have prepared myself that Dair probably won't be together in the finale. I don't know what the writers have planned, but hopefully they will show that there is hope for season 5 and even if not, I have really enjoyed what we've gotten this season. They had some great scenes. Maybe, the writers are trying to throw us off or maybe not, but it is what it is

#59 - 3 I couldn't care less about that article. I just enjoy Gossip Girl. I don't expect it to be a role model for how I should live my life, or what loving relationships should be like. I adore Dan and Blair, and I enjoy the rest of the storylines. If they don't put Dan and Blair together, so what? If they keep peddling that Chuck would never hurt Blair and that she wasn't scared, even though she pegged it out of the room, I don't care either. I can make up my own mind. I don't think it's irresponsible for teenage girls - since when is Gossip Girl posing as Seventh Heaven? It's disappointing for Blair as a character, but I'll still be interested in her journey, even if she does take that dumbass back. I don't know why the writers give interviews like this. It's silly for them to even defend what happens on the show, as everything is open to interpretation. |

The difference for me is this:
I could care less about the show portraying whatever it wants to portray. If it wants to show bfs beating up gfs, fine. If it wants to portray people doing drugs, having sex, incest, anything, whatever. Underage drinking, drugs, etc. It can portray anything it wants to, and it's entirely up to the writers to decide, and for the viewers to watch it and interpret it for themselves. I don't consider any characters on the show to be role models, so fine. And loads of tv shows/literature have bad, bad characters, some who gets their comeuppances, some who never do. But one thing I'm allowed to do as a viewer/reader is to judge those characters for myself, and either find it fascinating or boring or awful to read/watch. But...Safran is a real person. He just did an interview where he makes it pretty clear that he has some real frakked up ideas about what abuse is or isn't. Viewers made their own judgment based on what they saw in the episode - some seem fine with it, others are disgusted. Then Safran comes out to tell the ones who are disgusted that, NO, you're clearly mistaken. That is not abuse, that's love. By stating stuff like that in his interview, Safran himself, a real person and not a character on the show, made it clear on where he stands in terms of abuse, which is that it's not abuse even when the show clearly portrayed it as such. He's not even leaving it up to interpretation. He's flat out saying, you must be mistaken. This is a sign of love. And that....IS a problem. Last edited by Canattack; 05-04-2011 at 05:27 AM |

Jenny was one of my favs... and she is no longer around. I liked NJ in season 2.... they're ruined. I lost all my interest in Serena relationships. Or Serena as a character. I love Dan... I love DB. I cant stand Chuck. I dont want to see Chair on my screen. I feel sorry for Nate. Coz he is treated worst than a guest star. So DB is the only reason i still watch GG. If they dont give me a promising DB scene in the finale then there is no reason for me to keep watching. __________________

I'm choosing to ignore whatever interviews were given recently and hope for the best with Dair. I could say a million things right now, but why waste time getting annoyed over a ship I've come to hate, when I can use that time to appreciate the wonderful ship Dair is right now?
