I never fully watched either show. Mainly watched Angel reruns every morning before school.

I agree, I do think he would have been better if he'd been allowed to get closer to the scoobies, but after everything Angelus, no one wanted to be around him except Buffy - which is understandable imo, especially with Giles. They could have done way more with him though & they just chose not to.

But yeah, so grateful for his spinoff & everything that came with it, especially for us Dangel shippers

I think if Angel stayed on Buffy, the only other character I could see him having any kind of relationship with is Willow because I feel they have always been civil with one another during their scenes and I always actually enjoyed their interaction! Even when Willow called him out of being jealous. lol
She was one of the few people who didn't hold the whole Angelus thing against Angel and she was the one to restore his soul, twice.

So if he stayed, it just would've been about Buffy but I could've seen a side friendship with Willow occasionally...

I do agree that they could've done more for him though but they just didn't which is why I am grateful we got the Angel series, that series really gave us so much.

With Angel's character in general, it always would've been that way if he stayed on BTVS.
