In the Luke/Rayna bit of the promo his face is all scraped up so it's probably from 221... so I don't know how he'd get from there to proposing by the next episode.. especially onstage.. that's a dick move if he's doing it in a desperate move because he's afraid of losing her to Deacon... but still can't help feeling like he will propose

Even if he proposed there's zero chance that she'd actually marry him..

It sounds like the "no proposals" was an assumption made by the TVLine writer based on earlier quotes given about the finale and didn't come from Callie's mouth directly, so I would take that with a very big grain of salt. Looking at those pictures, I honestly don't see how that could be anything but a public proposal based on everyone's reactions.

It would also be exactly like Luke to do something like that, especially if he's desperate and senses Rayna is slipping through his fingers.

I don't think she'd say yes for press... she's not going to marry him so good press now would just mean scandal later when she inevitably breaks the engagement... but I can see her not wanting to say no onstage in front of thousands of people either

but he couldn't possibly think it's a good idea... weeks of feeling insecure about Deacon... a conversation that includes him saying that he doesn't think she loves him back... more Deacon insecurity... and then public proposal? ass

I'm sure Rayna will do her typical run and hide act where she tells Luke she loves him too and reassures him again that she and Deacon are history romantically, even though we know, and she knows deep down, that it isn't true. All signs point to Rayna giving Luke a positive response to his declaration of love and insecurity otherwise they wouldn't be happily performing together in the finale.

If Luke proposes, Rayna will be forced to say yes because in that situation, what other choice do you have? Breaking off the engagement after and dealing with some tabloid annoyance would be much less embarrassing than saying no on a stage in front of a crapload of media and an arena full of fans.

What's shocking to me is that Luke would have so little regard for the girls (especially since he has kids of his own) but then again, he's so full of himself I'm sure he would just assume everyone will be thrilled.

Yeah everything does seem to be pointing in that direction which sucks. And it really doesn't sound like it was callie who said 'no proposals', sounds like speculation on the part of the website. Ugh, I foresee another cheesy proposal cliffhanger in our future

Although, do we know if the concert is the last scene of the season?

the actual concert is definitely not the last scene of the season... they were filming concert after party scenes a couple days earlier.. maybe that's where Ed's ring toss hint comes in and she tells him off and throws the ring back at him as soon as they're not on stage in front of those fans
