Is it just me or do you find the beginning of s4 to be OOC for both Ross and Rachel? I can't imagine Ross being unwilling to take responsibility for their breakup or that Rachel would expect him to read an 18 page letter at 5 in the morning. It just felt really weird to me on this rewatch and their argument was so immature and so unlike the RR we saw at the end of s3.

Yes, it was, because Rachel and Ross had different views on their break-up, which is mostly her fault.

They both had a role in their breakup but I understand she was heartbroken and afraid to trust him again. I just have a hard time believing that he couldn't let that go to be with her since he was so desperate to make things work during the breakup and clearly still loved her up until the finale of s3.

Yeah, maybe. I did annoy that she wanted him to take responsibility for everything that went wrong in their relationship. when they were both at fault for that.
