yeah, but so it's not like they had a kid out of love. and they tried dating for a while but it didn't work and honestly I don't see much change in that now either

I mean yes, in soap rules J/R are “fated”. But... the amnesia thing is another type of trope that really doesn’t lend itself well to the two people not falling in love at the end.
