I live in Israel, where at age 18 you have to serve in the army. Some people don't, for various reasons, and there is an option to do national service instead, which is what I'm going to be doing for the next two years.

fetch- I think I remember reading about ppl having to go into the Army over there. But sill I don't know what "national service" is. Could you tell us what you have to do in it?????

Well, it can be pretty much everything, from office work at a police station to working with people in hospitals. It's just serving the country in some way for two years. I'm working in a kindergarden, doing mainly office work.
