I was watching this video and I'm getting Dair feels all over again. It's a mix of hopefulness, happiness and anger. These writers are absolute trash for ruining the one good thing they had written. Dan was such a good friend and so loyal to Blair for so long. I don't think I'll ever get over the heartbreak. I'm just gonna pretend the last scene in this video is how their story ends.

& I agree, he was so loyal to her, he loved her in the best way possible - it was pure & simple love. Any writer who actually cared about storytelling & putting out a good message, would hvae had them end up together

Exactly..they had such a special relationship that evolved over the seasons. And when Blair said "I told Chuck that he doesn't have my heart anymore," I thought they understood the treasure they had in this story. I wonder if anything happened behind the scenes for them to drop the ball so hard.

Oh they was definitely drama going on bts that affected the storylines, they were still rewriting the finale as they were shooting it

Oh yeah, Penn was actually meant to be in that last scene of s5 with Chuck & Blair at the casino, I don't know in what capacity, but when he came to set they sent him back home...

Hmm...I haven't even seen the rest of gossip girl after what they did to Dair. To be honest, I don't even know what happened in the last few episodes..which makes it easier to pretend that DB ended up together.. But oh wow..if Dan was supposed to be in the last scene with CB then I wonder what that meant. Wonder if he was trying to get her back.

I guess it depends on what it was actually going to be then, just how much things were changed...

I mean, Rufus & Lily were also meant to get back together in that ep, but they changed that at the last minute too & had her end up with Bart instead
