Damon/Elena - Even as a hardcore shipper of these two, I can admit that their writing this season has not been as great as it was for the past three seasons. However, they still possess that magic for me. They still make me feel things that no other couple can make me feel. There's just something about their love. The tragedy of it all, the complication of everything, just serves to draw me in even more. They are truly two sides of the same coin. Elena is on the same journey that Damon was on at the beginning of the show, and it's clear that they're going to make it out of this stronger than ever. I had my moments of doubt this season, moments where I wanted to give up, but I can't. These two are my lifelong OTP and that will never change. __________________

I really, really didn't want to ship them. I wanted to be all cool and yeah I dig them being just platonic, cos you know, you hardly ever get male/female friendships that don't turn romantic in some way. But nope, shipping them like crazy. Also the fact she gave him a framed quote from my all time favorite poem as a present in the last episode did not help me to try and stop shipping them.     __________________
