Yes, it all happened 12 hours too late. But the fact that it was such a near-miss, the fact that it was a 'Yes' and the fact that the whole audience knows how much Quinn loves Carrie, is why I think that it will be explored in subsequent seasons. I know that it won't be the focus, and I wouldn't want it to be, because that's not Homeland but when they are both on the same page... it could be that happily ever after that they've always dreamed of. I'd quite like to see Carrie pulling Quinn back to humanity this season. Like he did for her last season. I'd like to see her calling him on his decisions and on the person he has turned into. I hope this is how they play it. It will take Carrie all of five seconds to realise the person that Quinn has become in the last two years. She will probably be pretty shocked. But I just think their old dynamic will come back into play... and their history and almost relationship is tied up in that. I just think... the last time they saw each other, they were talking about giving it all up to be together. The writers can't not address that storyline. It's HUGE. It's two main characters and a long running 'will they, won't they.' I can't wait! Hurry up October 4th!!! |

New character bios for Season Five.
These are just descriptions of what we already know so I'm not going to spoiler tag. I thought the Quinn one was gorgeous: Carrie: Crack CIA agent Carrie Mathison plays by her own rules when it comes to protecting the US from terrorist attacks. Her uncanny intuition, dogged determination, and gift for persuasion have helped her convert allies, thwart plots, and rise within the ranks, often using controversial methods that are uniquely her own. But Carrie’s particular mix of traits also includes bipolar disorder, for which she must take daily medication in order to function. Her unusual sensitivities make it difficult for her to maintain the line between her personal and professional lives and the consequences often wreak havoc on her personally. Saul: Saul is Carrie’s long-time, no-nonsense mentor and he loves her like a daughter, even though it isn’t always easy. His unorthodox style and high-risk, old school maneuvers have both succeeded and failed spectacularly, often with Carrie’s help. Quinn: CIA operative Peter Quinn is a self-proclaimed “guy who kills bad guys” within the agency. But despite his job description, he has a conscience. He has been working both for and against Carrie at various times in his career, but neither position has dampened the feelings he has for her.:blush: Beautiful |
I've also watched the alternative kiss scene for the first time and I'm so glad they didn't go with that. In the final take, Quinn's love for her just absolutely oozes out of every line and you can see how much that moment means to him.
In the alternative scene, Carrie is too light hearted and flippant about it, and Quinn is a bit too needy in the way he says, 'I've seen you at your worst.' I'm so glad they changed it, it's so perfect and an acknowledgement of long-harboured feelings. Carrie is more careful and more sensitive because she knows it's a big deal. Quinn isn't needy, he just lets her know that he knows everything about her and wants to be with her anyway. It's not needy. It's just adorable. Can't cope with these two. Is it 4th October yet????????? |

The casual delivery of lines and the pacing of the dialogue in alt kiss scene seemed off. Carrie wasn't distressed enough about it after she broke it up and Quinn seemed a little impulsive. Their conversation was too rushed. You can hardly see their faces, there are no hands, they barely touch each other and the kiss looks like something that was driven more by desperation and lust than real love. It lacks the intimacy and tenderness of the real kiss. In the final version Quinn didn't sound spontaneous, he clearly has thought about it. Carrie is surprised, she has doubts, we can feel her emotional dilemma. Their kiss was much more erotic, intimate and heartbreaking. It was everything you want from a kiss for two characters whose sexual tension has been builiding for three seasons. I'm also happy they changed it, it's like they realized these two deserve something more meaningful. |

I LOVE the description on Quinn's bio. It sounds like Carrie is still very much going to be his achilles heel this season. Would we expect anything less? :) |
They will always be a big part of each other lives, romantically or not.
That bit about Carrie: Quote:

Alt kiss wasn't that bad, at least we got to see Quinn's face in that moment, and it was hot! http://33.media.tumblr.com/8e5e4f4c2...m3s8o1_500.gif http://33.media.tumblr.com/70e67946e...m3s8o2_500.gif x |
EW article seems a bit disheartening....
Spoiler:
But then again, like we've said all along, they can't possibly just ignore it or not touch it at all. It's two main characters and it's been building for three seasons. And Showtime have referenced it in the biographies AND in the clip on Quinn's character for Season Five. And I suppose Claire is referencing romance... in some guise. In a very Homeland kind of way as well. It's not like we expect a shotgun wedding and a life of bliss. |
