The Duke of Cambridge will have a third child before she is 35, friends have claimed.

The royal couple reportedly decided to have their first two children less than two years apart because they intend to have a third child before Kate turns 35.

The Duchess, who is 33, is one of three siblings, which may have influenced her desire to have three children of her own.

The Duchess has reportedly told friends she would like “at least” three children to give Prince George and her second baby the chance of having the sort of family environment she had.

Women's fertility declines rapidly after the age of 35, meaning the Duchess could choose to have a third child within two years of giving birth to her second baby.

The Duchess, who is just 20 months older than her sister Pippa and less than five years older than her brother James, is incredibly close to her siblings and rarely goes more than a month without meeting up at her family home in Bucklebury, Berks.

The Duchess's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, were the first people to visit Prince George when he was born in 2013.

The proud grandparents travelled to the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in London to see their daughter and Prince William hours after the birth of their first grandchild.

As they left they told waiting reporters that the baby was "absolutely beautiful" and that mother and child were "both doing really well."

But we may not have to wait too much longer to catch our first glimpse of the new Princess of Cambridge.

Princess Kate and Prince William are expected to show off their daughter within hours, insiders tell PEOPLE.

The proud couple will step through the famous doors of the private Lindo Wing before light fades in London, the sources say.

That means they will not have time for visits from grandparents Carole and Michael Middleton, and Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

Upon the birth of Prince George, on July 22, 2013, there was a parade of visitors before Kate and William emerged with their newborn.

However, it's still up in the air whether royal fans will get to see the newly minted big brother, now 21 months, on the steps with his parents and brand new little sister.

It's likely that the couple will introduce their princess to their families when they get back to their Apartment 1a at Kensington Palace.

A source tells PEOPLE the couple will of course come out of the front door in full view of the media and fans. But, the source says, "It will be more low-key than last time."

Chatter about them coming out earlier than expected was sparked when hairdresser Amanda Cook Tucker, the woman behind Kate's lustrous locks, was said to have been seen entering the hospital.

A royal protection officer was also seen carrying changes of clothes. That could be either for William or Kate.
