OMG! It was awful. Both Randy and Andrea looked thoroughly annoyed. I didn't notice wardrobe malfunctions, but the hosts were not good at all.

To be honest, not one single interview has been particularly good .. no matter where they are! So I don't think this was any worse than any that have gone before ...

I must say that most of these interviews bore me. They could be so much better. Kudos to Randy for keeping a smile on his face. Maybe he can start to mix up what he says to spice up the interviews, even though it's the job of the interviewer. Some people (not Randy) enjoy bull **** interviews (I mean, publicity) much more.

I of course enjoy seeing these interviews but they are getting a bit tedious now. I have to wonder if Randy and Andrea are getting tired of being asked the same things about Cabaret over and over and having to give the same replies over and over. I mean, I understand they have to promote Cabaret but still. Personally, I'd start to get bored by all of it. But that's just me. lol

I am so with you hun! I never get tired of seeing or hearing our gorgeous Randy but the interviews are all so fluffy and lightweight given the subject matter.

Welcome to the world of morning local TV station talk shows. Meant to be light and fluffy, no hard news, just smiling faces and happy talk. No depth..just get the interview done in 3 minutes or less and on to the next topic. If you have something to promote, a play or musical, then your bring the actors to "make the rounds" of the TV stations. (BTW...it is the PR people at local theater at each stop of the tour who arrange the interviews, not the production company.) In most cases the people who host the shows are not professional news people, but rather "on air personalities" who rarely do their on research, but instead are provided with basic information or given questions to ask by their producers. This was by far the worst. The male co-host looked like they just woke him up or maybe dug him up from a local cemetery. And it seemed that all the woman wanted to do was ask about singing and dancing and not allowing any comments about the dark side of the show. There have been some good ones, particularly the Lawyer/professor who interviewed Randy in Chicago. It was a "people in the news" type show and the interviewer was well prepared and very insightful in his questions and it was obvious Randy enjoyed the interview.

I totally get what you both mean. Completely contrived, like they have not a care in the world, all the while looking as goofy as possible. Journalists, I know you love what you do, but turn down the cheeriness a notch, it gets to be a little forced at times.
This is quite OT, but there would be times where on the local news, reporters here would report on unpleasant stories while holding a subtle smirk on his/her face the entire time... I think that is so weird. Like, what is the deal?

Back to Randy. Although they're quite fluffy, I'm glad to be seeing more and more of Randy through these interviews. His smile could light up a room still.

Light and fluffy with no bad news... that'S a good description

In the morning shows in Germany you get almost just news... they also do interviews or musicians promote their new songs, but those have their special days were they promote... you don't get sugarcoating over here... no matter what happened, you get it before breakfast airplanecrash, warvictims.... they don't care ...
