Brian looked so sad at the bar. This moments after he'd snapped at everyone to STFU because he got sick of hearing them ask questions about a job offer that fell through. And he was sad to think his best friend would no longer be there with him. I guess Brian felt out of his element, here.

Watched this ep tonight. Michael was the only one Brian would let himself break down in front of.

Even through the end of the series, Michael still got certain insights into Brian that Justin never did.

you see a person differently as a friend then you do as a lover, and when you meet as a kid, or teen, there are things you notice groin up together that you never will see when you meet as grownups .. so I'm sure Michale even knew a lot of things and thei background Justin never will know, cause to some places you don't go again

Very true. And Brian had a trust and unique type of bond established with Michael that was different from his with Justin.

Michael will always know things that Justin doesn't know cause they grew up together and had a whole life before Justin came along . Doesn't mean it was ever romantic which is where Michael often thought wrong

absolutly and that bond never would have been destroyed for good.. no matter how much they disagree and fight.. if it comes to the worst, they will be there for each other

So true. I love how we see them resolve their differences in the end of the series. Though I always knew they would deep down, there's still such tension created by their big, long fight.

That's one of my least favorite/most upsetting parts of the series...when they have their huge fight. I hate it.

Season 5 is when I thought they'd never recover from a fight. They had fought many times before, but it never felt as tense as it did then.

they really seemed to have drifted apart to far in that moment of that fight.. and with Brian always pushing limts.. just thinking of that present he brought for the housewarming..

It's so intense... It hurts my Brian and Mikey show heart.

And while Brian acts a bit overly-snarky at that dinner at Michael/Ben's place with their annoying friends, they were totally arrogant and condescending towards him first.

For Brian, it probably felt a lot like when Michael was becoming David's little trophy wife all over again. I see a lot of similarities with his new friends, to David and his friends.

oh yes, I do too.. they were a bit over the top.. so Brians reaction wasn't surprising just maybe a bit immature

They were on different wavelengths for sure. It's always so unfortunate when people... who seemed inseparable... grow apart.
