Brian was more cerebral than he was emotional.. which is not to say he wasn't sensitive. He just carried out most of his feelings through action and gestures.

there is some inconsistency with Justin that's frustrating. Even throughout the series, IMO. How he seems to shift from "not expecting special treatment" from Brian into "No, I need a husband and 2.5 kids and a white picket fence or I will NOT be happy" is like whaaaat?
 But earlier during the Ethan saga, Justin's suddenly lured by romance, whereas the anti-romance was part of what drew him so hard to Brian in the first place...*scratches head*__________________

Justin is such a quandary. He's hard to figure out, and it will take a lot more than what I have right now to determine why he changed up so much.
A part of me wants to be believe it's because he was still growing during this time... body and mind, because he was only 22 years old at the series end. He grew up with those values he developed watching his parents (before they got divorced) interact, and that's what he had always wanted. I just think he put some of those value or ideas of romance to sleep when he got with Brian because he was so taken by Brian's charisma and charm, and he saw Brian's rebellious streak as liberating... as a departure from what he grew up with. But deep down inside, he always wanted monogamy but just didn't voice these desires until much later. I think he also tended to be influenced by what others were doing with their lives. __________________
