That's true. I think it's the balance I miss more than the humor itself. The first season had a lot of angsty storylines but they were balanced out with humor. Take "Parting Gifts" for example. The storyline was about dealing with the tragic loss of a friend but it's an episode that I always think of as funny because of Cordy kissing everyone, her audition, and the introduction of Wes as a "rogue demon hunter."

exactly season 1 had the family team humor, season 2 had the dark team humor, season 3 had the family team dark humor, season 4, Dark it didn't even have that much of family or team because being a team is being a family, season 5 team enemy humor, the family was being killed away slowly...

I think the family was completely dead in Season 5. It's always bothered me that there was no mention of Cordy in the episode following "You're Welcome." The episode following Doyle's death was about grieving him and mentions of him are peppered throughout the first season and even in later seasons. With Cordy there wasn't even an acknowledgment that any of the other characters knew she had died. Then later when Angel tells the gang that Cordy gave him a vision they're all so casual about a mention of her, like she was away on vacation or something.

yea, it was hard to hear how they treated her death. They were screwed up with the scripts though in Season 5, the only thing I liked out of the whole season was Spike.

and ofcourse that YW episode.

I think Spike would have fit in better if they'd introduced him while the gang was still close. I could see him hanging around the Hyperion but to me he never looked right hanging around Wolfram & Hart. I did like the part in "You're Welcome" when he bit Cordy and they argued about souls. Interaction between those two characters was a big missed opportunity for the show.

Yeah, I wonder if Angel had even told the others that Cordelia is dead and if he hadn´t, it´s strange that they weren´t wondering where she had disappeared. The whole storyline is really unlogical.

I think he told them because he mentioned to Spike that he lost Cordy and Wes brought her up like he knew the whole situation. I just hate that we didn't get to see the scene where everyone found out. We don't even know if they had a funeral for her.

She's so pretty. Even though it's so sad that she died in that episode, it's such an honor to be brought back for the 100th episode. And to think also that that was James Marsters second 100th episode he went too.
